Maybe nooga should tell us which odessa he wants to visit..... is that soviet odessa, european odessa, chinese odessa, american odessa or african odessa???
Some should tell him FSU does not stand for Fabricate Stories to Ukraine.........
nooga come to yalta, theres more skirt than you wave a stick at here, and since the most eligable man in the crimea (me) is already taken youl have a clear run :-)
Just wanted to add that yalta is a nice place with a great atmosphere. Hotels are tad expensive by ukraine standards being peak season and all, am currently staying at the "bristol" which is $227/night - really nice hotel with sea views (got lucky here though) excellent gym and pool. Internet connection is, would you believe, dailup !! but actually seems to work reasonably well. Cable car ride up to "I-petri" is a must-do excursion. booked the hotel through www.kiev-hotel.com
who were very effecient and were able to find a room even when the "big" sites (ebookers etc) drew a blank, I guess they must have some spaces pre alocated or something.
hey bassuk....glad you are having great time....I too myself enjoyed yalta very much, never been there in summer, so my rates were much lower. Got to be a really romantic place...enjoyed the late night walks on the boardwalk!!! Have you gone up to Alushta, nice excursion up there and the bike riding was cool...less crowded there.
I stayed at the Yalta Intourist also called Yalta Yalta hotel there. For 3 people in a regular room was $120 dollars until July 15 and then $170 for high season. Two people would be less. They also had a free private beach, big breakfast buffet, one free dolphin show, olympic size pool, sports complex. They had wireless Internet but you had to buy a card from the motel for it and it did not work in my room. I bought a card and only used the Internet once in the lobby, no time for that :-))).
Dont miss the boat/ship/skiff whatever it is called up to the swallow's nest. It will take you past Alupka and Mehor and very beautiful scenery. 30 hrevna one way for adult 15 for a child. 10 hrevna extra each to sit on the top desk (well worth it).
We took a taxi to Lavidia in the morning. My lady jewed him down to 30 hrevnas and made the rest of the drivers mad :-))). We did have to walk from Lavida back to the main highway to catch a bus quicker back to Alupka to Vorantasov palace and then we took a boat up past mehor to the swallow's nest and she talked a driver into 50 hrevnas back to our hotel.
