I know you got burned, but not everyone is out to the get us. I used to be the ultimate cynic and never trusted anyone in my 20's. When I hit my 40's I lightened up a bit and my perspective on life wasn't skewed to the negative. Actually my 40's besides my youth has been the happiest times of my life. Hell as you'd say these birds aren't the only ones that have deceit covered, it goes on around us each day. I'm like you I can't stand it, but I think if you look more towards the positive things in life you see the whole picture clearer. So you are less likely to get burned because your not totally on the defensive. I'm not saying don't protect yourself, but you can go to the exteme both ways. finding that balance is what works. With some of the gall that scammers and gold diggers have it really clouds what the decent girls in the FSU are all about. There are some real decent women out their. When I met my wife I learned about the things she dreamed of having. It wasn't anything of the material nature. She wanted a guy that was loyal and would only sleep in her bed. One that wasn't a drunk and could hold a job. She didn't ask for alot in life, similar to what I was looking for. She never thought she would own her own car let alone her own home that she could do anything she wanted to with it. She works all day in her gardens because it gives her create pleasure to create beautiful things. Something she couldn't do in the flat she was living in. She doesn't stand their with her hand out to go shopping for clothes each day. She's frugal with money because she never really had it before. Her old car broke, knocked hole through a piston. I put a new motor in for her. She didn't ask for a new car because that one was broke, she was content on driving her Diamante. So I said fuck it, lets go car shopping. What an adventure that has been LOL! Little Girl in a candy store. Well at one of the dealers I found a deal on a Lexus RX400, she wanted a little SUV, God love her it drives the greenies crazy!! I figured this was a done deal, you know how those FSU girls are about status and trade marks. Well to my surprise she said she always dreamed of having such car but she didn't like the way it drove. It wasn't comfortable for her and difficult for her to drive. I figured I was going to ante up and pay some heavy freight but it didn't happen. She drove two others she liked better, Mitsubishi Outlander and Toyota Highlander. Considerably less in money than the Lexus. I'm a betting man, and I would have bet the house she would have chosen the lexus becuase of the status it has in her country and you know how competitive those birds are over there. Hell look how they act over damn cell phones LOL. Now the confusion really begins, she's looked at a Nissan Murano. I told her if she didn't make up her mind soon, she would get her license taken away for old age. No, buddy take a drink from a fresh cup. Step back and look at the big picture. You used to say I didn't get the plot. Hell you gotta see it first. You bring a lot to the table here for new guys. Cite the warnings but lose the negativity. I think you will find things better in the long run for yourself and others. Plus give a positive influence to new guys attempting this search. No this search isn't for the Poor handmaids of the meek that's for sure. My ex girlfriend said as soon as the wife got her green card she would leave me. In my travels I have found the Ukrainian ladys to be more down to earth and real, especially compared to the St Pete's and Moscovites. The more material one's I communicated with were from Russia and that turned me off immediately. It may just be me but that was my perception. The conversation mostly turned into how big was my house how many cars and motorcycles did I own and how much did I make. End of conversation. I never had these questions asked of me by wife. She figured if I could make the multitude of trips to Ukraine to see her evidently I was financially secure enough to take care of both of us. I can understand the difficulty to stay positive. I know I got lucky. Though I think my preparation helped me be lucky. This was a one shot deal for me because I had no ambition of living in Ukraine or Russia. I understand the car thing with your friends lady. Mine loved her Diamante, I pulled the plug on that, she was totally content with driving it with the new engine in it. Also I was curious to see what her taste was going to run and I got a surprise in that deal. More conservative than I thought. With Larisa's friends I saw more conservative nature of people. The birds of a feather thing. They are all alike, it's not about material, it's about finding a decent man that they can trust and not worry about where they were planting their root each night. Greed runs in all cultures. My divorce cost me about 800K because of the real estate business we had. I left it for my daughter instead of destroying what I built.
