I used this technique on a Sumy girl last summer. She was all excited and happy to hear I was coming, she planned it all, taxi (agency) ride to Sumy, interpreters from her agency, picnic trip to some famous place near there etc, etc. A couple days later when I changed the plan and told her that she would have to come to Kiev for our meeting... the shit hit the fan! I understand your rationale but the methodology is simply painting you as a fool who can’t decide or can’t stick to his word. Further, I honestly could never get my head around guys having the gall to demand their lady travel to meet them. Certainly, I suggested it with one lady who jumped at the chance and we had a pleasant week which amounted to nothing much other than that, a pleasant week, but for the most part to demand she meets you in XYZ is a bit much IMO. I strongly advise one seeks the “advice” of their pen friend regarding accommodation and transport etc but I equally strongly recommend the punter makes his own bookings etc. You’ll very quickly, by comparing her advices with other research, find whether she is pointing you in the right direction or steering your cash into her pocket via a third party. You will find that if the lady is decent she will work (and I mean seriously work) with you to find the most economical and convenient means of covering both. Go where she lives or meet in another city like Kiev. First meeting in a neutral city takes the pressure off of both people. Relax and enjoy the first meeting is going to be eventful enough. I chose to meet my wife in Kiev. Two reasons, one it's a very old and historical city and my wife enjoyed taking me to places and showing me her history and culture. Also it removes the need to agency services. Large city more competition, cheaper translators etc. We spent 5 days in Kiev then went to her home in Mariupol. These ladies are under pressure from their family and friends for what they are doing. No need to bring some jerk to your hometown so your friends can see what kind of moron you've been writing to and talking to on the phone the last six months. My wifes best friend wanted to meet me. I still thank Lucia to this day for what she said to Larisa. Her and here husband have become good friends to me. This isn't a sales presentation where you use techniques to close the deal. It's a human life we are talking about. I always wondered why guys went about this in any different way than they would in thier own backyard. It's easy to sift through the scammers. They will show their true colors early on. There is no need for agency services beyond letter writing. Even then when you establish a closer contact with the lady, letter writing drops off and most of the time is spent on the phone. You are in control of your own destiny and dollars. If she won't do anything without the agency, move on to another lady that will. Be in control, the ladies like that. You chose your apartment, find your own method of transportation to and from her city. The real girls aren't looking for mama's boys who need their hand held in every decision they make. In the long run the ladies are going to look at you for guidance in their futures because most of them are going to move to your country. They don't need indecisive men to help them when they are going to need your support in future endeavors. In short, remove the agency dependency, be yourself, don't make promises, don't use your socio-economic status as influence. Keep it all above board and honest and enjoy yourself. Meeting in her home town means she might be in the pay of an agency to get you there and spend money on apartment, restuarants, transport etc...all affiliated in some way to the agency. That said; it's still going to be cheaper than a 2 room apartment in Kiev which would be more or less ideal. In Kiev if you don't get on you can send her home and no hard feelins and go out on the town for the rest of the stay. In her town you'll be stuck if she wanders off back home. In any case no easy way to answer your original question in terms of meeting her given that if you're not sure where you stand with her then you can't be having much communication. If that's the case my suggestion would be to get her on the phone and talking to you on a regular basis....it's one way to gauge her interest when you start talking about the meet.
