'I don't see why it would be harder to Travel to Russia than Ukraine. In fact I'd think one would have an easier time in Russia.'
Why do you think it would be easier to travel in russia?
is it because you can get to any city via an overnight train?
oh wait, thats ukraine.
is it because you don't need a visa?
oh wait, thats ukraine.
is it because its closer?
oh wait, thats ukraine.
i don't like to flame people but your a total idiot. you know why? because instead of asking an experienced member the reason for their opinion, you would rather give your uninformed one.
stupid people like you get eaten alive in ukraine. bon appetite!
Precisely what are the popular ones, oh yes Ukraine is the popular one, a tiny country in FSU, what about Belarus and all the 'stan' countries and Georgia, Armenia etc?
However you are assuming I am coming from the USA. A visa is trivial, and traveling anywhere on the other side of the globe can be difficult anywhere including on a train.
So I guess before calling me an idiot you should not make assumptions about one's location and world travel experience. You know what happens when you assume...
I am happy that you are an "experienced" poster on some unimportant forum, and that it makes you feel like you did something important today by trying to belittle someone.
Maybe you need to gain some "experience" in your interpersonal skills.
Sorry you were having a bad day or whatever your problem is. My "opinion" was more of a question to keep the thread rolling. If you read it in context you might be able to infer that, but obviously, it is you sir with the lack of intellect, or perhaps you were just distracted with that stick you have up your ass and could not concentrate on my post.
This thread isn't about you and what you think about me or anyone else.
It is about experiences that people on this board have had on the websites listed in the original post or others that were not mentioned. So if you don't want to post about that, find some other thread and someone else like Danny to spew your unimportant opinions at.
Martin...I have not heard on forums like this about guys asking questions about going to
Belarus, 'stan' countries, georgia, armenia.....
How many do you think in past, what..7 years? A handful....out of thousands of threads and ten of thousands of posts?
It is like you asking why guys don't go to russia instead of ukraine, yet you didn't until recently.
I am still very good friends with an American guy I met via RWG forum some 7 years ago. He had posted regarding travelling to Uzbekistan, I had been there so I answered his questions, we exchanged emails, we met up in Uzbekistan on his first, and my second, trip there and we met up for recently, last year, whilst he was in Amsterdam on business, he's been married to a lady from Uzbekistan for circa 5 years.
I'd been to Uzbekistan twice before I went to Ukraine and in those days visa's were required for Ukraine so one country was much the same as another in terms of the visa bullsh1t.
But you've hit the nail on the head, these days guys invariably only talk of Ukraine so why has Ukraine become so popular since Ukraine dropped the visa requirement? It's not exactly rocket science!
In my days of hunting, and in those days I frequented RWG forum, guys posted regarding travelling to all countries and cities, if there were a concentration on any particular places it was probably western Russia for ease of travel for N. Americans. But now, on this forum, it is 90% Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine.
What is so wrong with Belarus, it is adjacent to Ukraine, but of course a visa is required! It can only be because less than experienced travellers cannot be bothered to put in the legwork to learn how to apply for a visa much the same as the vast majority of holiday makers opt for countries where no visa is required.
Martin, your perhaps right that people concentrate on Ukraine too much, but as I understand it you yourself went mostly to Ukraine when looking for a lady, and you are on your second marriage to a Ukraine girl ??.
The reality is that its no so easy on most other countries, well Russia is not too bad but go to any city other than moscow and st peters and its impossible to have a back up plan because there's only a tiny number of girls looking for foreign men even in major cities like novgorod, as for belarus, there is like one very expensive flight per week to the capital from anywhere civilised (like the UK ;-) ) and again there's only a tiny number of girls looking.
When you look at the proportion of girls on sites from various places I think it correlates more or less with its popularity with men for visits i.e. around 70% are ukrainian 20% russian and 10% for everywhere else combined.
Just for experimental purposes I've just done a search on fiance.com. They have 21,621 ladies listed of which 7,672 are from Ukraine yet 10,060 are from Russia so how can you say that Ukrainian ladies on websites outnumber Russian ladies by 3.5 to 1?
Bass, no I didn't go mostly to Ukraine when looking for a lady, my first 2 trips to FSU were to Uzbekistan, and then my 3rd trip was to Ukraine and then my 4th trip was to Ukraine when I met the wife. In between all that I had dated a lady from SPb, I didn't go there, I got her a tourist visa to come here, I met a couple of other Ukrainians in neutral locations, there was a Russian from SPb that I holidayed with in Cyprus, and another Russian from Irkutsk (I think) and there's probably others that have slipped my mind!
So, no, I didn't target Ukrainians and as for travelling to Belarus (Minsk) how many guys travel to Kiev to catch, perhaps 90 minute, connecting flights to other cities in Ukraine? Well one can just as easily catch a connecting flight from Kiev to Minsk and that's only a 60 minute flight!
But, the bottom line is, these guys have turned these Ukrainian ladies into commercial enterprises and don't these Ukrainian ladies know it! I've seen it first hand, as some know my best friend in Ukraine owns an agency, I've chatted with these agency ladies and some, the prettier ones, are inundated with letters and guys coming to travel.
Well I suppose it varies with the site: on anastasia for example there are some 8k ukraine profiles vs 1k russian. Your right though that the youngest and prettiest ukraine girls get a vastly disproportionate amount of interest.
Well I think that says it all, Anastasia is reknowned for being a scam organisation and if they have 8 Ukrainian ladies to each Russian lady then, as they say, 'there is something wrong with this picture'!
I was surprised that there weren't more Russians, versus less Ukrainians, on fiance.com but fiance.com work, in the main, with agencies so I guess they have a higher proportion, to size of population, of affiliate agencies in Ukraine than Russia.
I can speak of Uzbekistan, going back a few years I'm not even sure if there was an agency there that could be found by search engine, I knew a lady that ran an internet service from her apartment, that was how the ladies would look for men in the outside world, but bearing in mind that, even compared to Ukraine, Uzbekistan is a seriously poverty stricken country there are Russian ladies there, aswell as Uzbek and Korean ladies etc, just crying to get out.
rwglobe.com - used to be Global Ladies. You will be inundated with unsolicited letters - even from ladies that rejected you on Fiance.com. I was a member for about a year and wasted a lot of money there. Avoid
anastasia-international.com - Avoid. The reasons are self-explanatory.
AOB (Army of Brides) - Avoid. Another dozens-of-unsolicited-letters (and pay to open each one) website. I wasted a lot of money there too :-)
elenasmodels.com - Women appear to be real - to the effect that they are extremely choosy and quite rude, in my experience.
fiance.com - I have had good luck with Fiance.com. Met several real ladies in Russia and Ukraine. Can't complain. It has its share of scammers, time wasters and professional daters - same as many of the others.
interdating.ua - No information
mamba.ru - No information
behappy2day.com - real agency, real women. However none of the women are serious - almost all were professional daters or time wasters (with the exception of 2). Met several ladies from behappy2day in Tver in 2004, all beautiful but all a waste of time.
myusername, trust me, it's one invitation you won't regret missing. You're way to intelligent and articulate to be invited to idiotsville. You're grammer, punctuation and spelling disqualifys you immediately.
