It could be all innocent on her part not knowing this is same method scammers use to scam us foreigners but i doubt she didnt know as she was trying to get family friend to benefit from my visit by acting as her taxi driver in the first place. If I took the taxi driver option then she wouldnt get the money until taxi driver arrive with her in kiev and then probably lead me like a dog on the lead to kiev shopping mall to trash my CC then depart and never hear from her again then i'm back to square one looking for another lady :( these scammers comes in many disguises and sometimes I wonder why I don't just fu*cking find a lady in my own country I've heard success stories of marriage from FSU but a long lasting one is very rare, take for example my friend who married an Ukranian? she arrived in his country but she don't want to stay with him in his home town and much prefer to stay and work in the capital city which is about 350Km from his home town so as a result they lived apart for most of the marriage and as soon as she got the almighty permanent residence she made up something against him to file for divorce(This I also regard as a scam not just the one asking to send money via western union) ...and so the vicious cycle begins again, my friend is back in FSU looking for another lady About 2yrs ago, I was communicating with a lady from Nikolaev. After 7 months in communication I decided it's time to meet (we met in Odessa with me arranging the taxi thru website advance booking) I was so disgusted with her behaviour, I cut the holiday short by 6 days and made my excuse packed my bags and head back home I'll give you an example of these behaviours, on day 1 of our first meeting, we arrived at hotel, I opened door and took of my shoe and left it at side of the bed, she shouted "WHY YOU PUT SHOES IN THIS PLACE? THIS IS NOT YOUR HOUSE, THIS IS AN HOTEL"... I couldn't believe this agressive behaviours is coming from a lady i've been communicating with and getting along with by phone and email for the last 7 months at restaurants if I ask a question politely with soft voice, she shouted back at me for instance in restuarant I asked if we are sitting at the correct table for a meal her reply was agressive like, "LOOK, LOOK WE HAVE CORRECT TABLE OK? DO U NOT SEE?" I couldn't take anymore I packed my bags and left on day 4( had originally planned 10 days together) maybe some people will say i'm not a man, i'm a musse for my rash exit :) Recently I heard this is normal behaviour with FSU women, is that true? This woman was very cozy of the idea that I meet her in her town because I told her it was impossible at this time. Then she suggested she visit me while I am in Kiev. I agreed. She said she would travel, bring her son and show me all the wonderful sites and history of the 'very old town'. She indicated she would come. Then in the bottom of the ninth she asks me to send her 180 bucks for the ride. And she would travel alone. You'd have to see the messages to pick out the many contradictionds. I told her I had arrangements to visit her because an hororable man should travel to see her. It was a couple days but she finally replied. The usual procedure with the shoes is, they tell you to take your shoes off at the door. Nothing rude is said like "This is not your house." I did bring my shoes to the living room once. I knew it. The lady looked at me in the eye and pointed at my shoes. Nothing was said. How she talked to you at the restaurant was just plain rude. Probably 85 or 90% of russian women are covered by about 12 names. Because of this, there are literally millions of Elenas, Yuliyas, Olgas, Natalyas, Svetlanas, etc. etc. This makes an interesting challenge: when I contact several women thru a dating site, giving them my "real" email, and then receive a letter from Tatyana... which Tatyana? To meet a girl in another city and invite her....means you pay the bill of getting her there and back home...whatever that is...and if you think what she says is too expensive, find another girl or just go to her city. I don't know if original amount is roundtrip or not. Unfortunately, this seems more common among women "over there" than I am used to in America (to be more accurate, American women "bitch out" men they are close to -- Russian and Ukrainian women can do this to men they have just met).
