The best way to view the whole scam issue is
If it looks to good to be true it probably is!!
Common sense prevails, and if you are really that paranoid about being scamed, then dont look for a girl who is any further away from you than you can meet her in the street near your home !!!
But remeber,
"He who never tries has already failed"
Tim there is a subtle difference between being paranoid and being cautious, and it is very easy to be dismissive of scamming if your experience of such things is limited.
Hardly mate. I met married brought to England lived with for 3 months and lost one !!!
Before I realised I had been scamed, and Im still here looking :o)
Im not paranoid, and I genuinly believe that there are 1000`s of wonderful women in the former CCCP, I just got really unlucky.
I now know much more than I ever knew then, and can spot most scammers withing 2 to 3 letters.
What I am trying to say is that if you are really genuinly apprehensive about being scamed then for your own sanity stop looking, but as Del boy says "he who dares wins" :o))
Im not trying to upset anyone and I think you may have read me wrong Glad, sorry we got off ona bad foot mate.
Tim
Looks like I did read you wrong...apologies from this side too,my own experience mirrors yours almost exactly!!!!
But as I'm sure you will have gathered from reading the posts here there have been one or two loose cannons (thankfully departed now),and I'm glad we got things straight.
Returning back to request to report to site admin about possible scammers on the site.
Recently we received a message from one customer, pointing at one girl that asked him to pay for correspondence and send her money via WU. After checking her account we found out that she asked at least 20 other men to do it. Her profile was immediately deleted, but the question is:
why only one man reacted and asked administrator about it. Why other didnt do anything about it( and some, as it became clear later) already send her some money! With all those warnings not to send money, with all that tons of scammers sites-why men are so naive and are gladly sending their money after the second letter to someone they dont know? Why they let scammers scam them?
Im asking again;Men, if someone from this site photo gallery is asking you for money-send a note to administrator. We'll check on situation and let you knwo whats going on.
there is a T-shirt out there commonly worn by second-hand car salesmen.
Proudly on the chest it displays the text
" A sucker is born everyday "
Why they let scammers scam them? Because they're stupid of course, but have you ever asked the question 'Why are there so many scammers?'
Simply because there are so many guys who gullibly send money, testosterone oozing out of their pores, vision set on infinity and brain turned to zero.
And, I bet for some reporting this to you would be an embarrasment even, rather be silent.
1st Order Perpetuum Mobilae does exist.
But talking about cars, I've got an X3 here, modified with Oetinger-kit and dual Konig-turbo's, and cut slicks on Ohlins track-suspension. Low kilo's, and only driven by an old lady.
Interested? ;-))))
something tells me you are female and possibly living in Lugansk, but Ukraine is close I think.
But keep up the good work, no-one minds some little mindgames here, least of all me. It keeps the rocket-fuel alive, flammable all the time, ready to roar, just waiting for some bright spark.
"Queen of Hearts" agency, Omsk, Mrs. Yushchenko,
<eugenia@queen.omskcity.com>
OK or not OK ?
After one month of letters to a lady, who I found on Fiance.com (and is listed as with an agency), I had a mail from the agency last night with their services price structures. No demands for money or even requests I must be clear and say, and I appreciate that they have so far translated and helped us with many many letters for which I have not been charged (I'm not certain if the lady is paying at her end).
Prices are very reasonable, and I do not have a problem about paying for our correspondence, They also offer many services for visitors to their city, which again are very reasonably priced.
I have no reason to be suspicious, just being careful and doing a check with you that all is above board before I arrange to pay anything.
read the above again?
You say you communicate with this lady via Fiance, and next you say you're willing to pay the other agency as well, who's on top of all not even asking for any dough?
1 - You already subsribe hence PAY Finace
2 - You already communicate with this woman
3 - Did I miss somethin' me ol' haggler ???
'Ave a luvverly weekend ma China's, gone fishin'...
I understand what you are saying TD, but someone must need to pay the agency for translations, what I pay Fiance.com doesnt even near cover it !!.
.
As I understand it, the fee we pay Fiance.com is to be allowed to use their site to contact ladies and for ladies to be able to contact us, we dont pay for translation and typing up of reply letters from the girls, or have I got something way out of whack ??
It can take an hour to transcribe one of my letters mate, and Im sure the $1 they are asking for each one is not unreasonabl, also until now, one month in, they have been doing it gratis, so to date they havnt made a bean out of me, I call that a pretty fair and honourable deal, to wait until a firm correspondence has been established rather than charge right from day one, as some agencies do, when it might go on for a week and then fizzle out,
This is not the lady asking for anything, its the people behind the scenes who make it possible for us to write to each other, and they are not asking for a kings ransom, just $1 each way for each letter, now thats not bad value at all !!!
I may haggle mate, but I also believe in value for money when I see it :o)))
Olga, please clarify this for me asap, is this request usual and proper? Do Fiance pay the agencies anything ? Are these people doing anything wrong by asking me to contribute ?
thank you in advance
Tim
Fiance.com provide the means to find the ladies, they dont do the translating, typing and guidance that the ageny at the girls end obviously do, so do they get paid ?
Certainly not by me so far, and if thats the case, is my lady paying her end ? If so I want to take that burden from her, she cant afford it, I can.
But I want to check all angles with Olga first before I send anything !!
I have read all here , but nothing is mentioned about Agency fee`s (The Agency of the lady I mean of course)
Tim, I pay for what they call a special service with 2 of my girls with their agency. If you want more details about the service they provide us I will let you know through email.
I was just thinking, we pay Fiance.com between $15 and $30 per month to use the site to find our ladies, that means if we choose to write to 10/20 or 50 ladies at any given time we only pay the same amount, surely someone must pay the agency each girl is using for their work ? I doubt Fiance.com could afford to pay much if anything like what the agencies actually should get for what they do, And it sure isn't us who pays, at least initially anyway !! If you wrote 3 letters a week to 3 girls it wouldn't work out at $1 per letter, and that doesn't even take into consideration her replies and translation in both directions !!
We do tend to get a bit lazy guys, most if not all the hard work is done for us by these agencies, yet the moment they ask for any financial consideration for their work many of us start muttering "scamers" under our breath.
The one I am currently talking about isn't asking for the earth, they ask a modest $1 per letter, and if you knew how long my letters can be, you wouldn't think they were being in the least unreasonable !!!
