Durak,, I had been on a website called “Love planet” for a short time. For the most part, it was just a hook up site, but they had women from FSU and western countries. One thing that I noticed in a lot of the women’s profiles from the US, is when they answered; (What are you looking for in a man?) They would write it in Russian!! The balance of the profile might have been in English,,, what they were looking for was in Russian?! Were they only looking for a Russian man,,, or perhaps, a man who would take the time to translate?? I wrote to a few women on that site. One was from Montana,,, she had married an American,,, and wouldn’t say much more. What was important to her,,, was if I could speak Russian with her. She spoke okay English,,, but wanted to have a conversation in Russian. I had to say sorry. I almost asked Ralph if his wife would want to speak to her,,,, but he was leaving the forum at that time, so it never happened. The two other women were from FSU,,, Krasnodar and Kazakhstan. Both were very interested in me,,,, IF,,, we went on vacation to some warm exotic place??! I found one of them on fb,,,, her profile was loaded with vacation photos! Grrrrrrr!

My girlfriend in my senior year of high school was beautiful, she had a great personality, terrific looks and a wonderful figure. But she was shy and not into makeup. And she wasn't one of the "cool kids" so nobody had really asked her out. I did and I discovered a hidden gem. We broke up because we went to different colleges. But I learned something from her. I learned how to find incredible, but often overlooked women. They are everywhere, but especially in Ukraine. You don't want the life of the party. You don't want the flashiest girl or the one most impressed with money. You don't want the girl who has done a lot of traveling either. You want the girl with quiet beauty who seems to sit back and assess the situation. If you ask her to dance (and she likes you) you will see her sparkle but in a muted sort of way, just for you. You don't want the girl who can't look you in the eye willingly or who looks bored with you. You don't want the girl who seems to be working on making excuses on why she can't see you. You want the girl who jumps at the chance to spend time with you with sincereity. There is definitely a look to look for and a look to avoid. And the only way you know which is which is to experience it. Ukraine is the best.

Jet, I agree with what you say about hidden gems. Gents, what he gave was very good advice; how many times have you read here or at other sites about being wary about the "model types"? Me? I'd rather have a hot librarian type that will marry me and that I'll turn into my own personal MILF (Look it up) Of course, some here don't appreciate your experience in Ukraine and would rather accuse you of being a shill. Why would someone come to forum where men can and should compare their experiences and say that somehow your experience is false is a mystery. Or why he would come to a forum for dating foreign women and advise others to "date in the USA" is yet another mystery.

Batman,,, I look for the sweet country girls, and I thought I had found her. This is the same girl jet claims I paid to have sex with me, by simply giving her ear rings!! Do you agree with a 34 year age difference?

Thanks for the comments Batman. If I wasn't having the time of my life over there I wouldn't go. And, unfortunately, I am not rich - so if I was PAYING for what I get - I couldn't afford it. I am ASTOUNDED at what some in this forum pay. SInce I met my first Russian girl in 1998 - a Lithuanian named Irina who lived in Racine, Wisconsin I have barely ever dated an American woman. They are just not worth my time. I truly feel sorry for the men who go over there and are disappointed (except "smart a"), you are just doing it wrong.

I can say that there is a stigma for genuine girls who join the dating websites. Many join simply to make a paycheck so the genuine girls get much hassle. I can say from my observations that it still happens. girls do meet guys and have success from these sites. Its probably rare to be sure but really depends if guy actually comes. When guy spends time here chances are better than writing letters. Its cheap to stay in Ukraine and esay to meet girls. Take some Russian lessons. You will find the benefits are great when you meet a girl at mall or grocery;)

Rick: I have to admit I don't speak much of the language yet. But I had a great time in Kiev in grocery and other stores. I dress the part. I wear a nice black leather jacket, the same sort of shirt and jeans. Sometimes I wear the pointy shoes. About the only thing I messed up on the trip was gloves, scarf and hat. Ukrainians wear them. I didn't bring them. I would be standing in line at the "deli section" of a grocery store, and looking the part, like any Ukrainian. People were pushing to get ahead of me (they use elbows a lot). When it was my turn I always started out with "Ya nee penneemiah Paruskie" and then I spoke English. Any Russian woman there immediately became friendly and helpful. Some who had already been helped, would hear me and hang around. A few would cautiously try to speak english to me, but my Ukrainian/Russian just wasn't good enough to actually have a conversation. Had it been - I could have met some wonderful looking ladies.

I have a favorite cashier and deli girl that always smile and are friendly. I have a hard time reading hand written Russian and especially Ukrainian which the little signs in the display are written. She is good about helping as is the cashier as Im now a familiar face. If you are outgoing, friendly and attractive guy you will get offers of help from ladies.
