Jet; like I said the offering of the daughter as an alternative...by the mother..is a poison chalice. Just my opinion.
How many 37 year old men would have their judgement clouded by what's on offer here?
I can think of a handful of reasons for a man of that age to be willing to be coerced into marriage...non of them particularily honorable.
An old woman aked her MP one day why couldn't things be like the good old days again (when marriages were arranged).
The MP promptly removed her pension book and shoved her grandson up a chimney.
I think we've come a long way since then.

With all due respect Kirkland - I didn't understand any of this.
What is an MP and why would he shove a grandson up a chimney?
MP = Minister of Parliment.
In the good old days...which older generations seem to think was a better time for all there was no social security system and no national health system. (Simliar to FSU states and other places like Thailand...which incidentally is another country where western men seek brides)children were sent up chimneys to clean them, since they were small enough to get up there.
This was Britain in the last century and I've seen some parallels in fsu countries.
women test men all the time. maybe this was a test by the mother to see the character of the suitor. this was not a subtle test. and me thinks the suitor lost. :)
That certainly would be terrybull. Now, if they both get pregnant, the kids would be siblings and uncles or aunties of each others. Then, the cousins and grandchildren.... terrybull indeed.
