Thanks for writing about this, Mr. Durak. Most of all, thanks for not taking sides.
The only reason for my posting on this thread is my love for FSU women. I probably will not go to Kazakstan because of I already have an FSU girlfriend, and for reasons already explained on this thread. Assuming those reasons did not exist, I would consider going there. I don't know a lot about Islam, but I think it would be worthwhile to investigate its compatibility with my beliefs.
I have heard it said that man can be three things: What he says he is, what others things he is and what he really is. It certainly is not my intention to label or mislabel anyone or any religion. Even if I researched it as Beemer said, I don’t know if I could come up with any different conclusion because I have not run into anything that said they were not Christians until now. That is not to say it doesn’t exist. Muzzy certainly could turn me on to some. I have my own questions about my own faith and have come to the conclusion long ago, to not worry about it.
Now, I must address what Beemer said. One day, I decided to put a little twist in this forum by mentioning a little history on Julius Caesar. A few actually enjoyed it and said so. Yes, I watched it on HBO, but I also bought the DVD’s. The DVD was researched thoroughly and it had another feature that put an icon on the screen about every 10 minutes. When you press enter when the icon appears, it would tell you the historical significance of what was going on in the screen. It also had another feature that you can see the whole story accurately, as it is in the history channel.
It had been about a month since I last watched the DVD when I mentioned it on the forum. I don’t remember the mistake I made, but Beemer was quick in pointing it out. After I looked it up, it was too late. He and Nasfan were already laughing about it. Ragingbull made a mistake. Now, it is not just one month later, or two months later or three months later…. It is more than that. Beemer now is saying it again. Ragingbull made a mistake.
In the US, the workers must get paid first before any creditors or the business must close. In Ukraine, the business remains, but the workers will not get paid. My gf's work is seasonal. Yes, I have helped her out, and yes I bought her things like a computer, digital camera and a DVD player. Beemer does not like this and has said so. Yes, there are arguments against this practice and arguments for. We can argue forever about it. I know I might get burned. But, it is who I am and I cannot and will not change because of people like Beemer.
What timing! Yesterday - as she cannot attend the service - I read to my mom the readings from the Sunday program of the Trinity Lutheran Church. When I was finished I thought to myself, "I don't think anyone can be (or actually is) Christian based on this." Though Muzzy points out there are many. For the rest of us according to Ian Anderson, we created God in our own image...
As for looking things up, Wikipedia is not necessarily a fact proven data base. Anyone can modify it. Generally speaking there is some reliable information available there. But I would never bet a Coke that anything I read in Wikipedia is fact.
Anyone can modify Wikipedia? Tell us how you would do it, Ralph.
Yes, a good research would probably require more. But, if you do a google search on anything, more than likely, Wikipedia is at the top of the list that comes up. Yes, I looked at other sites in looking this up, but Wikipedia had the most information.
How would anyone research anything nowadays? Google search is quick and easy. I dislike going to the library. Half the time I go, they are closed, even during the week. Beyond the computer and Wikipedia, I would order a book on Amazon.
I don't remember the show, but a school kid was interviewed on TV last week. He was asked what an encyclopedia was. His answer was a question, "Is it anything like a Wikipedia?"
Notice, new repeat offender that is stirring the shit again is added to the list of forum spoilers... "Fanny40!" kindly ignore his posts as rubbish.
First off I must tell all newcomers to this forum to expect a flurry of derogatory messages from the following people, Fanny40, I'm Not The W@nker ... He Is!, Smart Martin!, nasfan6, dansing, Danielle-Soloud, SOOTY, Dani, mawson and Driftwood Arts… they are the spoilers of this forum; they engage in constant arguing, bickering and posturing to benefit their inflated egos. My recommendation to you. . . ignore their posts; however they will eventually succeed to degrade the original topic into nothing more than petty quarrels and bickering between themselves.
RB- read this on wikipedia, I just looked it up. :)

I was not saying there is not a wealth of information there. I am only saying that the information is not always from a reliable source. And yes, just about anyone who desires can edit an article in wiki. They tell you how to do it themselves.
Thanks, Ralph. Now that you posted that, it triggered some memory of what TV show I was watching that school kid from. I was doing something else and watching with one eye and one ear. I believe it was NBC's Extra where the founder of Wikipedia was also interviewed. This is something new: An encyclopedia written by the general public.
Still, they encourage verifiability and neutral points of view. While I was reading one time, I saw in pharentesis (citation needed), much like my English teacher used to do. Therefore, their team is not of experts as in Encyclopedia Britannica, but those who verify their authenticity. If there were deviations from the truth, one can usually see it because the reader usually would have some knowledge of the article, as I did with David Koresh when I read it from the news reports from way back then. The article I read about David Koresh is not different from what Mr. Durak posted above.
It also says that it has the same rate of serious errors as Encylopedia Britannica. When one researches by searching on the interenet, there are hundreds of thousands of articles.
What comes to the top is usually the one most visited. When I was young, Encyclopedia Britannica was where you went to get comprensive information quickly. I wondered why they were not on top of the list. Now I know. They have a site, but you have to pay.
Ivor, you are correct. The pecking order is almost solely based on proprietary rights if you will. If someone wants to start an internet based company be ready to dole out some cash or people will have to search deep to find you. Just typre 'russian women' into the search. See what comes up. The usual suspects...
If one wants to get their business known about on the web it helps to pay the search engines but it is not necessary, as a builder of my own websites it's a matter a getting the appropriate keywords and the webpage intro right, it is these writings that the search engines pick up on but, you're right, if one Googles, as an example, for Russian Women it is the ones that pay the search engines that appear first and not necessarily the most popular retailers.
As an example, these past few days I have been buying some 'electronic cigarette' products on the web, in UK these are only retailed by smaller vendors and the (best value) guy I am buying from is clearly home based yet, rather than pay for advertising, he has placed his products on Amazon (marketplace) to get his products top of the search engines.
But I go direct to his website, having found his company name on Amazon, and it is cheaper via his own site, whatever Amazon charge him he reflects in his prices on Amazon, i.e. 10-15% more expensive on Amazon than on his own site, but, if like me, customers will check out both sites before making purchases.
Soon I shall be starting a new business, rather than pay to advertise I shall place my product with one or more of the major players that pay to advertise, they may take 10-20% of any purchases but I'll incorporate that in to the prices on their sites, if the customers find their way direct to my site they'll find the same product 10-20% cheaper, the advertising has been done for free by the major player(s)!
