Rather than sharing our knowledge with (paid for) others, for free, wouldn't we be better off writing the article ourselves and selling it to the said publication(s)?
Because folks (at least in the USA) like to use "rocket science" and "brain surgery" when speaking sarcastically about something that would supposedly require exceptional skill or knowledge...
my colleagues and I have melded them together, and say about a task, "this isn't rocket surgery!"

To be fair to 'magazinewriter', lots of people have written about the so-called "mail order bride" business. It's a subject that readers are curious about, and they enjoy because they can feel superior to the people they're reading about. Sincerely, who doesn't enjoy doing that sometimes? I take him at his word that he's a real writer.
On the other hand, since our names would be published to the world if we cooperated with him ... why doesn't he give his full name a link to his CV here on the forum? The blade cuts both ways, you know. Come on, writer, surely you take some pride in your career!
Just as an example I've written/dictated a number of websites, it's a case of getting one's mind in to gear to write to the viewing public, whilst trying to sell the product, and without too much of a biased view, if you call it Rocket Surgery then I'll believe you but precisely what specialist skills does a journalist require to scribble notes and then twist everything? :)
P.S. Journalists 'got me' that one time, being oh so nice to me only to screw/scam me, never again, I learned the hard way!
since this has already gone south I figure why not contribute my own nonsense.
Danny41 - you were right - I should have tossed out the barra fish and ate the rocks.
my lovely bride is outside continuing to paint while I have been tasked with lunch. I got caught up in home things and the yard since the weather is nice -- gave up a day of hunting to spend it with wife even if it is just doing yard work. I am currently experimenting with sockeye salmon - wild caught. I have some bay scallops and will attempt to make a soup/stew with the salmon, scallops and a potato base. we still have fresh cilantro and herbs. But since you brought up 2-minute noodles I was wondering if I should just go for a wild rice and a thai seasoning for it. since you are going to thailand anyway, if I had some lemon grass I would be set for a spicey fish stew. but perhaps it will be more on the finlandia style.
I've never been to thailand, only singapore and a few other places near there. I always enjoyed the open air markets and constant prepared foods that I find in these places. a travelers delight - for those who can stomach it. I am reminded that I should plan a trip to the 'far east' in the near future. maybe on my way back from my NZ fishing trip. ???
I am sure by now the mag writer has determined we are a lost bunch.
well for good or bad it should be interesting to see his take on the industry. as for me I have no fear of what others think and I am definitely not shy so I did answer a few questions on record.
Danny41...back already? You've posted every day since you left. You must travel at the speed of light.
The OP's article can't contain anything new. Even to the ininitiated; it's a well worn subject.
More interesting would be the lengths some fsu women will go to gain financial security.
You know it. My young blond Russian hottie MOB wife is not satisfied just cleaning the toilet, making dinner, planting flowers and sleeping in bed next to me. She has her GC and her own car. Now she wants to get a nice job and contribute financially to the family with her own earned money.
Very audacious for sure!
One of the things they do is research opportunities for business, gain contacts through friends and also research colleges and accredited professional curriculums. Then they work their ass off attaining it while they work a menial job pay her own way and to help contribute to the family finances.
Baron:
My wife beat your to the punch. She was very unhappy until she got her own job to not have to depend fully on me. She's had the car since June, but she cannot drive it :-) At least not without me next to her. That drives her crazy, but she's not helping herself failing the road test every time :-)
Maybe she's just waiting to pass the road test to leave, but I'm willing to take the risk. :-) I'm sure she has a master plan, like all FSU girls described here.
Mine is not blond, though.
FSU, my ex-Russian wife took the written test two times then she found an "error" on the Russian language version of the Michigan written test, then on the third time (with a different test) she passed the written test. Then we took the driving test... two times before she passed it. After all this testing and driving... she still wanted to drive like the kamikaze idiots in Russia drove. I think it is in their blood to drive offensively!
You can't generalize. I told my gf how far Las Vegas was and it took me only five hours to drive. She said she doesn't want to ride with me because that was too fast. I had to explain to her the freeways - no traffic lights.
One of my first impressions of Ukraine and Russia, was very aggressive and fast driving on the part of bus and taxi drivers. I'm not surprised that Russia's first Formula 1 driver just completed his rookie year with a good record of achievement.
Perhaps it's in the blood - I have a friend (60-ish) born in Russia, who spent most of her adult life in Ukraine, who told me about driving to the Canadian border in about 80% of the time I would have taken :)
yes, offensive driving is in the slavic blood. My GF has only been driving for 3 years but she used to be doctor on ambulance so she knows the roads in Kiev very well and takes advantage of every short cut and break she can get. as far as the driving goes, I fit right in;)
NOTICE; new repeat offender that is stirring the shit again is added to the list of forum spoilers... "dunny41", kindly ignore his posts as rubbish. dunny41 hides behind his fake member name and probably gets some strange fantasy fulfilled... he's kind of like a stalking, peeping tom that likes to hide and watch and has no personality.
NOTICE; I must tell all newcomers to this forum to expect a flurry of derogatory messages from the following people, dunny41, Fanny40, I'm Not The W@nker ... He Is!, Smart Martin!, nasfan6, dansing, Danielle-Soloud, SOOTY, Dani, mawson and Driftwood Arts… they are the spoilers of this forum; they engage in constant arguing, bickering and posturing to benefit their inflated egos. My recommendation to you. . . ignore their posts; however they will eventually succeed to degrade the original topic into nothing more than petty quarrels and bickering between themselves.
