I have a funny one. my gf is now using a new language course to improve her diction. some russians have difficulty with the 'th' sounds. either an 's' or 'z' sound comes out sometimes. it takes practice. and the 'er' sound as in 'her'... and basic vowel sounds have a russian flair to them. she wants to not have an 'accent'. but always will. somehow I thought of the 3 stooges, B-A BA, B-E BE etc. I found it on youtube and played it for her. TRULY F-IN AMAZING! as silly as it seems, this 20 minute venture with Moe leading helped her incredibly. btw - 'tellmemore' language courses blow rosetta stone out of the water. they have a voice recognition program that gives instant feedback. and much cheaper. as for what others have offered about their women, I can attest that my gf treats me like a king. kiwinorth is not BS'ing. for the record, my wife did not say 'be the man'. she knows I am the man. it was that she wanted me to tell her what to do regarding something with the house. hence 'be the leader'. I just am not used to ordering women around. you just had to be there to understand. don't read too much into it or try to dissect it. I just was amazed, that's all. I continue to get compliments - actually my wife does - she is a doll, sweetheart etc. from both women and men. and not once has there been any disparaging remarks about her being from russia. she is just another lady to everyone. and I doubt she will ever change.
