Its been around since Soviet collapse
But - don’t go thinking their ability to learn and succeed is eroded by the few (mostly richer ones) that buy their way to a top education achievement
As I said above - its the fact that they are not lazy and have discipline still imbedded into them.
maxi - very few american women understand what hard work an sacrifice means. that is from the baby boomers on. the old school mentality of working for what you get is sadly disappearing.
durak - I think you are on to something. sadly the younger generations of the FSU are being poisoned by the greed and affluence.
" durak - I think you are on to something. sadly the younger generations of the FSU are being poisoned by the greed and affluence."
ralph...it is the american way.......what is it, keeping up with the jones'
"Greed is coruption"
As far as FSU girls....there is a difference between hard working and education. I do believe many girls/ladies are hard working (12 hour days) but education wise, many do pay their way to grades. How many actually do work related to their majors? It seems to be more of a 'social' status. Money is to be made from their looks and bodies and sex appeal. ie- MOB

thanks karylB. It's a good thing you came along. I was going to send a letter bomb. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
If anyone else wants to send flowers, candy, teddy bear or a bottle of GOOD wine to someone, PM me. I will not advertise for them here but the service is OUTSTANDING. I have used them a dozen times already. This is the same service that hunted down my wife (fiancee) after she changed locations in Moscow. My wife now uses them (we together) for women's day, birthdays and such for relatives back home. And she is frugal. Return customers are treated well.
karylB....well your timing is impeccable!!!! Jeez, how long has V D been celebrated in FSU? I understand women love to get flowers but maybe you are here about a month early....the true day to remember is March 8 aka Intl Womens Day!!!
Starting with a woman not wanting a valentine, there are a few things in that post that is hard to believe. I have never heard of a woman not wanting a valentine. Yet, it might be true.
Danny, my success does not depend on your failure, so I will not comment. Remember also, that your success does not depend on my failure.
I happen to know a woman who does not want a valentine. 'we celebrated saturday when we went to valentine dinner and dancing. I do not want anything else. I do not believe in such a celebration. please do not waste money on such things...' and she is still po'd I wasted good money on diamond earrings for a christmas present. but she did write her birthday on the calendar! I asked, "Why did you write "my birthday" on the calander?" She replied, "So you wouldn't forget!" So my guess is that a true Russian woman does not care about an American - I know it is not just American - 'holiday'. I also heard today that a few islamic countries put out a warning about it to the local folks - if you celebrate or acknowledge this hedonistic celebration, death by stoning... or something like that.
Fortunately for me :))) her birthday is tomorrow!!!!! so I better get it together soon ;) I knew and remembered her birthday from day one. And I suggest to those who are involved (or wish to be) with a Russian gal to always treat her birthday as the most special day of the year. Woman's day comes next. and your wedding day is a tie with her birthday I think.
bribing teachers is more for the parents own vanity, i would think,, Russians have a massive problem with that in my mind.
but bribing also kept guys out of the army which is or was a nightmare for some, if not possible crippling or death sentence "very different way of training" i wonder if its still that way today.
but Duack its when bribing goes to that next level is when its scary.
to be that doctor or surgeon.
Russia knows it has a terrible problem here and is trying to find a solution in its medical side.
at this time teachers have to prove they are real teachers once a year by a paper they have to fill out with co signatures and proof of teaching.
so i wonder what they do with doctors and such.
i watched a friend go through hospital with a broken femur there,, "holey shit"
then there's a very close friends mother going undiagnosed of basic diseases in her surrounding hospitals local or 20 hour train trip from her home which were life threatening.
it was only sorted to a point when they decided to try a Moscow hospital which was a 20 hour train trip and 9 hour flight in this condition.
wow, makes us look like a soft lot here:)
i guess you can call the place a true "user pays" system.
I am in the unsuccessful and successful category as I married a Russian girl who was difficult every moment of her life I am sure of that. We have a multicultural centre in my city which contacts the women after a certain point, offers them English lessons and (as it seems to me) makes sure thy know all the best ways to leave you husband if you want to and clean him out. I was lucky as it seems I played the game a little better than her and she got 2 parts of sweet FA. Anyway, by chance (7 years later) I married a Ukrainian girl who never really wanted to leave the Ukraine but we fell in love (we did not met via any site or dating service). I am totally happy and if we are all honest, we all know when we are truly happy and in love. I mean, I told myself the first time I was in love, but deep down, I knew I was not, I was just happy to not be lonely. This time, its different. Not only am I in love, but I truly feel loved, every moment of every day.
Kiwi. Educated?
I have to say a few words about this, not that I completely disagree but I have had some experience with these girls so I will say my bit. The first time I went to Russia I met this girl and she had a UNI degree in economics. She thought she was so educated but lets face it, every second girl does in FSU had a degree in economics. She actually worked as a customs officer at the train station (so she said) which here (Australia) is not a super job, and certainly does not require a uni degree. Now I am a lowly Electrician and she could not understand why I did not go to UNI and better myself. I understand from many girls that my job in FSU is just rubbish, but not here. She went on and on about it so eventually I told her to not come back. Her responce was to cry. It was all very odd and a learning experience for me.
Another girl I met (as a friend) was going to marry a man form Australia who owned a restaurant but he could not afford another trip back to see her while she waited for her visa. She asked me, how can he not afford it when he owns a restaurant and is a part time model but you come here for the 3rd time and you are just an Electrician?
And, my not so educated Russian wife goes to the shop one day and there is a 10% off marked prices sale on. She buys all this stuff and goes to the checkout to buy it. They add up the total and take 10% off that total. On the way home she asks me why they only took 10% off the total and not off every item. I told her it was the same thing to which she says, no, it not the same thing. I told her I will explain it when we get home to which she replied, you stupid.
Educated?
The girl I am married to now (Ukrainian) is has a UNI degree in computer engineering and got a job here 1 month after she arrived. She still makes less money than me (the lowly electrician) but not much less. Maybe one day she will make more which is ok with me. By the way, when she had her interview in Moscow, they asked her why she married me, this man is just an Electrician. You are a programmer, your father is a programmer, you come from good family. He parents live in a very small and old apartment and she certainly was never on huge money in Ukraine. Its all a matter of prospective I guess. We should all understand this before we go there, and be prepared to make them understand what life is here too. Its not all endless piles of cash and BMWs. Believe me, some think it is
My wife told me most girl go to UNI in Ukraine to meet a husband. Not all sure but a lot do not really care what they study or how well they go. Smart men go to UNI and they will hopefully met one and get married. Its the greatest meeting place in FSU for young people. And you think they are so educated. Also its not difficult to buy good grades in FSU. Teachers are paid rubbish and can certainly use the extra cash. If you intent to get a job its probably not the best idea as you will fall apart when put to task, but not that many girls in FSU actually use there qualifications.
Girls are girls, the world over in my experience. I have met a lot of FSU girls who have nothing but expect everything. Mine had not much but what she expected, she was willing to work for. Hope you an all find the same
I know a kid who was studying to be a surgeon. He was doing very well in his schooling. One day he dropped an exam. He was shown the door the next day. No consideration for past performance. Zero tolerance for one failing grade. So there are both sides of the coin.
They said it. My girl does not lie about such things. Honestly, we are very open. She herself was shocked to the fact that though the people in the embassy who interviewed her were Russian, that they would not know that my work here is not as bad as it would be in Russia. And, I will ask you politely to not make suck such accusations about my wife again. I have never meet a more honest girl in my life from any country.
The point of the man not coming back who owned the restaurant was not really that he could not come, more the point that she though it odd how I could afford it as to them an Electrician is nothing. Usually some drunk man who cant get a better job and has nothing. I have heard such opinions from many girls.
Matrix
Sorry mate but you are wrong about the education papers. My wife has a degree in computer engineering from Kharkov University and had little problem getting a job here and gets payed rather well. Also another girls she knows got a job in a similar field in USA and did marry a man to get a visa. Still not married from what I understand. Forget what you all think you know 100% Anything is possible even if it is not that common
Oh yeah thanks for the apology for accusing my girl of being a liar!
"i think your girl might be telling you a few porkies"
This forum has changed very little over the last 5 years. Just wanted to tell people that there is success for some people out there. Did not expect any great thanks or anything but did not expect someone to insult my girl either. I have read your posts Danny and your comments and lack of regard for what you say does not surprise me, nor your ability to miss the point.
don't know much about immigration interviews but if its anything like some letters I've seen from embassy's in Russia, they can be rather disgusting, have very unprofessional remarks.
these questions and remarks were by Russians employed by embassy to do visa's applications, the "case managers" of visa applicants.
it seems they can have no problem been distasteful to other Russians.
it has always amazed me how they can treat their own with such contempt, its the opposite to my fellow country-persons working in foreign embassy's, they do their up most for you "actually thats not true but they are better:)
Russian women can be nasty cows when given power over others, or is that just a women thing.
I still laugh thinking of the shreeeeqe a policewomen gave me for leaning against her empty "so" private desk in a room of many, sexy bit she was..
was organising visa stamp for that particular city, worst part about travelling Russia.
You are a tool. It not that you questions why, its that you called my wife a liar. Get married to any girl then let me call her a liar.
They ask more in interview, its not on the papers. On papers they are all standard questions. You filled out the paper and you are now the expert on the topic? I have filled them out too, so what?. They ask all sorts of questions to rattles girls. God, listen to what happened to other people for once in stead of giving advice on things you have never been through. I am happy to explain anything, but I am not happy you say, "I think you girl is telling porkies". God, what sort of guy are you? Just call people liars for telling you what happened in an interview. I do not ask an apology for asking questions, but even in the questions you ask, there is a rude tone of disbelief. Read you post, Jesus dude, Seriously?
i dont belive they would say this ... the interview is about if your relationship is real not your income.
So now, again you just call her a liar. Does not matter what you think interview should be about. This is what happened. It's really that simple. But I am sure if you reply again, it will just be to again call me a liar.
Hmmmm? Why would one fill out a marriage visa when he proclaimed on this forum he wasn't getting married? Jasface, don't waste your time with this jumbuck molestor. He's lied so much on this forum he doesn't even know the truth anymore.
