The Moldovan government is currently involved in signing a possible trade deal with the European Union. Reuters says the pact “is similar to that which Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich dumped, sparking the crisis which brought him down.”
Just like with Ukraine, Russia is using similar tactics to make sure the former Soviet Union state stays within its camp. Moscow is now in the process of infiltrating the last pro-European republics in its sphere of influence
Despite the 'ceasefire' in Donbass region agreed early September, many civilians have continued to get killed and injured in the crossfire. It is well known that pro-Russian rebels carry out some of their attacks in residential areas. But understandably, when residents see their families, homes, schools, hospitals, buses and even a morgue bombed, there is deep hatred and resentment towards those who they believe did it: Poroshenko and the Ukrainian army. With every civilian casualty, both sides of the conflict, of course, always deny responsibility. Everyone should be aware that such atrocities continue.
This morning, 22nd January 2015, a trolleybus was bombed in Donetsk killing 13 people. The BBC News website reported "Rebels paraded captured Ukrainian soldiers at the scene, as onlookers shouted abuse and beat or pelted them with debris from the blast site."
Ukrainian PM Arseniy Yatsenyuk, blamed Russia.
'NovoRossia TV', an organisation that obviously does not have balanced reporting, has a video that is, however, self-explanatory - showing one of the captured Ukrainian fighters facing angry locals:

On Sunday in Kiev, thousands attended a day of mourning, as on 13th January there was another attack from artillery fire on a bus in the village of Buhas outside Volnovakha, near Donetsk. Someone filmed what they found inside the bus:

Chief court coroner interviewed, about the high number of casualties brought to the morgue:
"Civilians have been killed, and executions happen here," Ivanov said. "We know of them and have heard of them. But there is nothing we can do. If any police or any person tries to investigate or accuses a fighter of a group, then they will be killed. It is my work to stop these people, but right now, we can't do anything."
"Conflict-weary Ukrainians gave their lives in 2015 the worst Gallup rating on record for that country. On a ladder scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being the best possible life, Ukrainians on average rate their current lives at a 4.0."
"A blackout across 15 states and Washington, D.C., could cost the economy hundreds of billions of dollars, raise mortality rates at hospitals and cut the nation’s water supply, according to a recent study."
"There is a terrible sensation of physical, political, social and economic isolation and abandonment among the huge number of people -- more than 3 million in all -- who are struggling to eke out a living in the conflict zone,"

I heard this on NPR News too. Apparently, is too late to escape, either to Russia or Ukraine. People are exploited. Men beaten and women raped....Worse than Afghanistan.
My inlaws live in donetsk. We talk every day. My sister in law sells lingere. A while back she was passing thru a terrorist checkpoint and the guy asks " what's in those boxes". She said "underwear". He said "we wear underwear". She pulled out a lacy thong model and said "i bet you look great in these". He gruffly told her to move along.
What is an 8 year old doing in Yemen (the poorest country in the region)? I presume her family has already renounced their US citizenship. Back in the old days, you took out the entire family tree if there was one "bad apple".
My in law family lives in donetsk. Salaries have been cut in half. Prices have gone thru the roof. One of my family members I owns a lingere shop. They were stopped at a check point. The russian terrorist asked what was in the boxes. She said "underwear". The russian terrorist then said "we wear underwear". Pulling out a pair of lace panties she said "I bet you would look great in these". The russian inVader told her "get going".
Isn't that the same motive behind ISIS and Al Queda? They just want the world to leave them alone so they can live in peace and eliminate those that do not agree with them.
As George Steinbrenner put it in 1982, it isn't really over until the last dog is dead.
