I said just be cautious if you do so. Personally I will never pay a girl's taxi as a condition of the meeting. In other words if she says to me, I will meet you if you pay my taxi. Secondly I will never pay a taxi that SHE arranges. There are many variants of a taxi scam such as the girl not coming by taxi at all and still collecting taxi fare. The girl's brother or husband is the taxi driver and so on and so on and so on. Yes, it's appropriate if you're both together in the street and want to hail a taxi together. Let her do the talking as if you speak English the rate will sometimes go up. I will never put cash in her hand and say, Here's some money for taxi because this is rife with abuse. I did this once and I watched her sneak into the Metro. What I often say is, You're welcome to come by taxi but you will have to pay it yourself. If I don't like her on the date I will never offer to pay her ride home. I had the Luhansk taxi scam pulled on me for 4 nights. It was day 18 thru 22, during a 18 day planned trip. I didn’t worry about it. What I wished I had done,, was to follow the taxi and see how far they went. I’ve offered taxi money to every girl,,,, so that we could spend as much time together as possible. It was only 40 to 60 Uah. I have also watched them get on the bus! One time the girl asked for some taxi money when the weather was quite cold,, I was going to do it anyway. I didn’t have much Ukrainian money on me,,, and was counting it out in little bills,,, then I had to pay the interpreter. I only had $100’s and had to give her one,,,,, and let her keep the balance for the next day. My date had a rather sour look on her face!! Not even a scammer or professional dater would say that, they would happily pay $10 to come to you with the promise that they could get their money back by 'scamming' you later on. I once exchanged messages with a girl who set about telling me that she needed a new fur coat and that women had to dress expensively for their man. If you are the kind of person who cannot work out that this is the attitude of a girl who would end up getting you to pay for expensive taxis, presents, restaurants and the like once you are there, then I can see why you have ended up with that 'girlfriend' of yours. I take it this is the kind of thing agencies/flower services do to prove to men who paid good money for the service to verify that the girl actually got the stuff they ordered. But then it makes you wonder how many men have done the same thing with the girl, whether the girl is attached to an agency or 'present delivery service' and whether this is the kind of thing she is expecting of you. Similarly, some girls tell you they earn little money but send you photos of them in fancy restaurants or holiday places. Who paid for that? surely not the girl. I take it some of them are sending you photos taken during their dates with other Western men! Any men who recognise the photos in dating sites, should tell the site adminstrators but it is not strictly wrong of the girl to do so. One guy reported a girl as a scammer as he had gone to see her, he bought her presents, he took her to nice places, in a couple of trips. Then the girl said no when he asked her to marry him. Where is the obligation of any woman to marry any bloke who takes her out? It depends if she had been leading him on in the course of the relationship, I guess. After my visit to Luhansk,,, I did some homework, and found that a bus leaves for her hometown every 30 to 45 minutes and for only 6.95usd. Take the Luxe compartment. It's reasonable and there are a lot of express trains running now. For example Kyiv - Kharkiv in about 4.5 hrs. Kyiv - Odesa in about 7. It was an agency taxi, and the best rate to Sumy. It would be a better deal, if the driver spoke some English. He was a good driver,,,, but I did see 150kmph a few times,,, and in the winter. I take taxis so I don’t have to fumble around with language issues. I’ve gone from Green Bay to Sumy with no layover ,,,, I don’t want to deal with catching a train or bus.
