I do not see the relationship between Ecuador or Ukraine to choose one or the other :-) Not that you need dance lessons to emigrate to Ukraine, maybe to pick up a girl yes, but the real fun about them is going WITH the girl(s) to the dance lessons. I have done it and it is a great way to develop a relationship. Usually the type of dance I find in common with the ladies from anywhere is Latin dance: Salsa or if you are good: Tango. Ballroom dance: I am afraid young girls will identify it with 'oldies'. Two 45 minute private lessons plus some group lessons. In Ukraine, it is a fraction of that cost. I have reasons to dance that go well beyond picking up women. So far, none of the girls writing to me has given me the code. Earlier in the year I rented a luxury apartment in Kiev for dirt cheap. While I was staying in the apartment the owner complained to me that I was paying too little. I booked the apartment through Booking.com - the best site in my view for booking hotels and apartments. (The owner had set the price on Booking.com themselves) Same thing with restaurants. I'm talking mid-range restaurants not the ultra expensive ones. I say that looking for a wife in a particular part of the world should be led by a specific interest or cultural link with that place. I think that this link or interest will be very useful in developing a relationship. For instance, in my case I have very specific cultural, blood and knowledge reasons for wanting a Ukrainian lady. It would not occur to me to seek a Thai wife just because I find Asian girls so cute; I have no cultural interest or blood links of even business links with that country. The cultural intrest is sometimes reciprocated (ladies that list specific countries where they wan the man to be from, in their profiles), sometimes not; this can be a little problem that can stay in the relationship for good. I know from experience. I don't. Dance lessons are a nice benefit. I want to be a good ballroom dancer. I can get what I pay $300/week in USA for $40/week in Ukraine. In the Army I lived on the economy in Germany and Korea. So while the Army provides a nice support system, I was still very comfortable. I spent a month in Peru in the 90s and am on the board of a 503c doing work there. I know people in Ecuador. It is more functional than Peru. I have been an Eastern Front WWII fanatic for 40 years. In the 80s I read everything Solzhenitzen had written that had been translated. The Leningrad to Astrakhan river cruise has long been on my bucket list. My first girlfriend was Japanese American, my parents were married in Japan and I had a Japanese aunt. There are a lot of expat destinations I have not mentioned. So I guess I agree with you. There are men who drool over the pictures of the glamorous Ukrainian ladies in the dating sites and go for them when some men could not even place Ukraine on the map. Their next mistake is their belief that model looking girls are going to fall at their feet because they are Western men in shiny armour coming to rescue them from their country. Some men completely let themselves go and they still think that an FSU lady who regularly goes to the gym, keeps a balanced diet, drinks little or nothing at all and takes care of her appearance will find them appealing. I do know a Russian couple who rent out their apartments in Russia and spend 5 months of the year in Thailand with their daughter.
