Texiee comes here begging for a fight,,, almost demanding one,,, and when a few people call him on it, he calls them trolls and evil men?? Another new member created a thread on or about the same day,,, she was polite and courteous!! She received no negative feedback whatsoever,,,, and other members helped her as much as they could. When people are polite and courteous, they get treated the same way. But people come here acting like prixks and a$$holes,,,, they get treated like prixks and a$$holes If other people want to communicate with him on their own,,, be my guest! There are scammers and players to deal with plus learning how to live as a Ukrainian. Having been in a chat room for most the day and night for over a year, I can say that this is true. People in that room were talking a ton of things between members and things got ugly pretty fast. The real odd thing is that I spoke personally with just a small group of people and I got to be made a scapegoat by others with all of the rumors flying around. Since I was constantly seen on the site day and night, that made me an easy target to be accused as a gossiper. I actually had no clue what was being gossiped about and just permanently ignored the others. BTW, the chat site died a slow death as the server was later shut down by the owner. It was one of the most hilarious moments of being online. People's message post which appeared within a few seconds of sending it out, instead appeared ten minutes later. It was so funny watching the exasperated posters trying to understand why their messages were showing up so late. And eventually, you got the screen "server does not respond or cannot be located". Kyiv is cheap but the other cities are even cheaper. So someone who comes in here and says, 'I live in Ukaine'. So what? Big deal. Is that supposed to be some kind of major accomplishment? You can live in a hostel there for $2/day. Are we supposed to get all thrilled because some misfit lives in 'Ukaine'? Anytime someone picks up their roots and moves somewhere...that in itself is an accomplishment. If it is work related, not as impressive, since it has an expiration date. Yes, it is inexpensive to live in Ukraine but you must remember your salary is much less also. My friend in Odesa taught in a language school, pay is low, when he got his raise, it was offset with an increase in rent, he has been there for almost 5 years. He makes some money helping foreign tourists(guys). You're not getting rich there. To make matters worse, with all those lovelies around, not much extra cash to take them out. Kinda between a rock and a hard place. ALL expats that I know there live simple lives, don't throw money around. It is the foreign guys visiting spending the cache on girls before they run out of time or money( exception being TomZ here who is very frugal and using the cheapest anything). hahha Most guys here have never been in Ukraine or have not been for long time, yet spill info as if it is applicable. Anytime you can get current info..... all the better. But in this forum it is usually about mudslinging, putting down and complaining. Why anyone would want to come here or stay here is a headscratcher!!! IMO , it's an accomplishment if , the individual or individuals, adjusted/ integrated into the culture , learned to speak and write in their new language, able to earn/ gain a sustainable development/ growth.
