As the matter of going to church or not, it depends on the person, I have friends that follow all the rules of the Orthodox Church...believe me it's a really hard thing. They have to fast about 7 months per year, and when there is a big Lent, they hardly eat a lot. If you follow all the rules of the Orthodox church, you will have to do nothing just to follow them. Many people visit church on Christmas, Easter, Trinity, and some other holidays, it depends on the person. But not many young girls go to a church on Sundays.
As for being religious in the USSR, even for yourself...that's not truth, any of your family would think that he does a good thing to inform the authority about that, children saying things to authorities about their parents and vice versa.
dma a five hour marathon - thats wild! I send a half hour an hour on the phone and I can hardly contain myself. We don't talk dirty, or get into a whole lot of blatantly romantic stuff - but both of us are near the big O just by talking sweet.
I honestlt cannot remember ever feeling this way towards a gal before, not even in Jr. Highs, or High School or college or whatever. Lucy who is fantastically frank and open, and not given to hyperbole feels and says the same thing. I almost feel as though this whole phone relationship is one senuous drawn-out session of three month long foreplay - again without any sexual content in ourtalk at all!
5hrs only seemed like 5mins as we completely lost ourselves with each other and if it wasn't for the fact that she's +3hrs and needing her sleep I am sure we would still be on the phone now, some 24hrs later. :)
And when we're not talking - we're writing long letters to each other - and when we're not writing - we're thinking of each other like crazy - it's never ending...A stark contrast to even the first 2 or 3 letters, often probing non-intrusive templates.
I cannot make any comment regarding 'phone content' in a public forum unless it's about someone else other than the banter is struck well beyond Base #1 and I won't even use a wink icon.
As you say, when you make that call and everything connects beautifully...there are few better experiences other than the anticipation and moment when you meet. Christ, that's going to be one h*ll of a climatic event.
Yo! and amen. There are few better experiences when everything connects beautifuly. dma, youv'e probabaly said before, but when and whre are you two going to meet? The thinking of each other continously thing is exactly where Lil' Lu' and I are at as well.
I wouldnt have expected any less than good clean phone calls mate :o))
I recall you saying that you might not even sleep with Lucy when you are there, and I full respect your views and ideals, so I know for a fact if you say that you dont talk sex on the phone then you Dont :o)
Good for you my friend, and dont worry, del` and I are doing enough to make up for it ;o))
Ptichka. Would you tell me your thoughts on whether the women who attend the Orthodox church on the occasions of holidays, but not on Sundays, would profess to having a beleif in God. And if they think that religion plays a role in their everyday life? Thanks , Steve
With pleasure ensata!!! Those who visit churches on big holidays even, may have even a stronger belief in God, then those who attend it every week and even several days a week. Why??? Because those who spend much tiem in Church may follow the fashion, yes really after the USSR broke it became prestigious to attend Church and to ask the preist to come to the opening on the new building. Those who come not so often, may read the Bible at home, pray to God at home, and understand the Bible better. But again it depends on the person, I don't want to say that those who come to church often they don't believe in God, some don't but some do believe. And some follow all the rules of the Church. It just depends on the person.
I spoke some with Kate about religion so had something to add. She basically told me that yes, she believes in God but never really attended church. Mostly because in the Ukraine they have no pews or seats to sit in. So during the entire eulogy and church program the people in the congregation will stand. If it is a hot day and the progam is long, it isn't uncommon for some people to faint from heat or collapse from being tired. So that is one reason why not everyone attends church or attends often. I asked her if she wanted to attend church in the United States and her response was, "Yes, as long as they have seats..." so I thought it was fairly comical.
Yes it's right that there are no sits, and it's very hard to stand all the time. And when there are a lot of people there is no fresh air...and it's really hard.
we will try our best to keep your reputation clean ;o))
Brian:
Cant say out of the lots and lots of Russian churches I have been in I have ever seen a single one with pews !!
Everyone stands as a mark of respect.
All being well, I am eastbound mid to late June meeting and staying in Moscow for a few romantic days, then to her city for a bit longer and then back to Moscow for a sweet few days goodbye, if I can get the handcuffs off. :) If all is successful, the second trip back to Moscow will be nice but very difficult to leave meaning some important life changing decisions will have to be made. If not (less likely), back to square one.
For my sins, I still cannot pass any comment on my calls other than they are struck well beyond Base #2 and Babe Ruth would be proud of my effort.
The purpose of my visit is perfectly clear and shared completely between the pair of us with a view to testing every aspect of long-term compatibility. It would be pointless going otherwise. Everything part of a relationship that could be spread over weeks and months normally with a local girl, will somehow have to be condensed into a week or two.
