"actually the cities here in the US have much less pollution than they did."
But many of you still drive cars that use a gallon of gas to do 8 miles dude !! :o))
If the US doesn't buy Russian oil then the UK and Europe certainly will mate, I wouldn't worry too much about that :o))
Adam LOL
I like the analogy of the tug boat and tractor, but you are pretty close to the mark there mate :o)) Very few cars there are running at their correct mixtures or efficiently, and sorry Man, but I saw many "trucks" in the US that i wouldn't have dared drive, and that certainly wouldn't have passed an MOT test here in the UK, the black smoke comming out the back would have made that a certainty !! (And black smoke is unburned fuel, for the non mechanical among us, grey smoke is oil being burned and white smoke usually means the head gasket has blown ! Or the driver is toking on a fat one !! :o))
Ptichka:
Its always good to hear stories and rumours about any place one of us may go to :o)) We know you better than to think that you believe everyone all St P residents to be stoner's honey :o))
Russian Vodka is bar none the best and smoothest in the whole world, it makes western Vodka taste like surgical spirit in compassison, and I should know, I have drunk a lot of Vodka in many contries, but now I wont drink Any but Russian.
Russian Vodka....hm and what was the name???
On TV they showed Ukrainian horilka to be very popular in Great Britain:))
As a girl I vote for wines, tasty wines made in the Crimea....oh I won't to have a drink even when I remember the taste:)))) Just kidding it's too early for the drink yet:)))
I havnt got any bottles here at the moment (they are packed and in storgae while I move house ) so I cant tell you the names today, but they were none of them expensive, $2 to $5 a bottle at most !! All very smooth and no hangovers !!
Oh I see....I can believe that a bottle of vodkafor 5 $ is a good vodka, but for 2 $ sorry I can't believe that. On TV they said "keep away from the vodka which costs less then 15-17 grivnas and dry wine which costs less then 16-18 grivnas" meaning that it's a fake. 15-17 grivnas about 3 $with come coins:) 16-18 about 4 $.
But may be may be, everything may be!!!
Honey, I can assure you that the Russian Vodka I have tried and drunk quite a lot of over the years has never cost over $8 a bottle, and the cheapest was $2 and tasted just as good !!
Compared to UK Vodka (Smirnoff for one, its Muck !! and Absolute is just as bad !!) Russian Vodka is the best on the planet !!!
Yes indeed Trad; a really great time and not only visiting St P ! :)
I cannot answer Ptichka about drugs in St P as I didn't see St P night life; too busy with my own.... :)
Natasha told me that many young people (boys & girls around 20 years old) spend their WE drinking heavily but didn't tell me anything about drugs. I wonder how they would dare, having seen the vigilance of the militiamen ! On saturday evening, I came back from my "step-mother" house with Nat and saw bunches of militiania in the metro, watching at the young people; they stopped a few groups who were yet under influence of the booze but I didn't see a guy or a girl under influence of everything else (I've seen more than a few cases of druggies in Brussel, capital of the EU)
Perhaps that they use the exhausted gasses to make their trip ? LOL
"I didn't see a guy or a girl under influence of everything else"
E, and many other drugs would look to the uneducated as if the person had been drinking Adam, unless you have seen them drinking its not correct to assume they are just drunk ;o))
I drink about one and a half-two bottles of wine an evening and go to bed sober, Tanya gave me a bottle of Russian Vodka, it was great and strong, however she also gave me some Vodka a friend distilled(moonshine) I had about 3 glasses, I could maintain a sensible converstaion, but no matter how hard I tried I could not even lift my arm up or move my leg:) was like an out of body experience, brilliant stuff( I don't recommend driving after drinking though:))))
I wasn't clearI guess Tim.............re;

No one will buy Russian oil because US/Iraq deal will undercut them...the Russian people will not be happy.
We in the UK, dont get to benefit from the "US deal" mate, that just means the USA can continue to drive 8 mile to the gallon cars at $1 a gallon !!! We will get shafted just the same as we have always been, so the Russian oil might just be a way to get us a better deal for once !!
I don't know how you can live with those prices. Maybe you don't have to drive as far.....Come to think of it,I have to drive 2,000 miles each way, just to pick up my kids this summer.
No mate, granted we dont do 2k trips often, but a lot of our driving is town and city stuff, which eats the fuel far far quicker than freeway driving does !!!
EG: My car does about 18 to the gallon around town, and anything up to 28 to the Gal on a motorway !! And thats a 4 litre Auto !!
