I know the airport alone can scare the hell out of some people.. Where to find the gate..?? What to do?? What if?? and a lot of other questions. When you come to a foreign country, how to find everything? What to say, what to do? Is crime really as bad as you've been told? Can you feel safe? I have worked as a professional DJ for several years (not the last 10 years) , been travelling all over the world, some times with some rather famous artists, some times all by myself, and even I am still some times in-secure. The first time I went to Estonia I was worrying about how to act, I had been told it was quite dangerous there... What a joke! It was a ball! Just take some precautions, I m sure you do it every day in US as well. I am sure you will succeed in your first travel outside US. Just leave your Hawaii shirt at home, and don't walk around with your cam around your neck... My best advise to you is to relax, and make sure you are at the airport in good time before your flight. I am taking my second trip to Estonia the 10th of february, and I just can't wait. Second trip in 4 weeks! Life is wonderful right now! I wish you the best Redman! Some services are pricey such as the accomodation..you can find your own apartment in Kharkov easily for $600 usd for a month or less so I suggest private accomodation arrangements rather than the Kharkov Hotel. Translation services ( use of a translator person ) seem to be good value for money as well as airport pickup and return but you dont have to use there accomodation.
