Nobody forces you to read Ensata. I would suggest you create a thread called “Ensata and friends” so you can talk about the topics that are important to you; I promise I will not post anything. As far as I am concerned, I have exactly the same right you do to post whatever I feel like; so once again, please leave me out of your postings. And thank you for not putting me in the same category as the donkey, but since you are self-righteous enough to assign donkey and I in different categories, have you asked yourself in which category do you belong?
it seems that friendships can be forged here, but also true is the opposite of this. Since the donkey turned up, I have seen a lot of agro here. It seems that people here cannot agree to disagree. It seems that the wheels are falling off
Dax, I know that you would find it out of place for me to spiritualize everything and give religious counsel to everyone in the way that you wield your background in psychology. Personally, I have three years of graduate work in counceling and clinical psychology at U.Mass, so I also can psychoanalyze, but I honestly feel that I would be imposing my view on others if I did.
I want to get along with you, I respect your views - have your say back to me if you wish; and you will see that I am done addressing you other than in friendly terms. (Unless you bring up religion or politics - which topics I never bring up, but sometimes feel compelled to offer a differing opinion on when brought up by others.) Peace!
I will try to concentrate in girls and trivial matters that do not offend anybody. And lets keep it friendly. I am actually a very friendly person, so lets just have fun.
Hey, what's the latest count for convicted clergy guilty of child molestation....and when was the last time you met a psychologist or lawyer in favor of balancing the state or federal budget by cutting the lion's share of favoritistic pork and freeloading welfare programs??
NO, do not answer, lol!!!!!....that was not my point.
Dax, I understand that you find everything we discuss here trivial if it is not directly related to your own area of professional interest.
On the other hand, please realize and accept that in the real world of men who work and lead our own lives without crutches (religion, prescribed meds, psycho counseling) most of us find your professional interest just as trivial, useless and redundant.
And when pushed to center stage, flat out detrimental to the genral purpose of the main reasons why we're here.
Ensata is a class act among us, because despite the strengths of his religious convictions and practices he has done nothing to attempt to stuff them down our throats or bore us with endless biblical quotations.
You may want to take a page from his book.
I also would like to get along with everyone...well, almost everyone, lol.
If its a choice between Psychobabble and God, I will take God thank you. I had my psychology in college that was enough for me. If any decent shrink tried to analyze me, he would end up putting a gun in his mouth. I was reading an article about practitioners of the psychiatric sciences, saying alot of the doctors where on the same medications as their patients. This isnt taking a shot at anyone but isnt that the same as letting the fox in the henhouse? Well I guess its like one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter, all in how you define it.
Dax your interpretations dont offend me, I believe in freedom of expression even when I dont agree with it! To be any other way would be totalitarian.
Ensata, I majored in political science in college with a minor in history. Yeah I know real tough stuff. My emphasis was the study of the american revolution. So I know if I share my politcal beliefs Im bound to piss some people off her. Without debate this would be such a boring life.
I certainly enjoy the topics you mention. With the exception of my my ability to make a living afterward, I would likley have pursued the same degrees. If you participate in other forums in that regard, I would be glad to take a look. To bad so few understand the roots of totalitarianism.
