I understood what you said. I was using a little sarcastic humor. It's also an insult here, but it is very ambigous in it's definition, but it is a rude insult here no matter which way you use it, unless you are among friends here in the states, then oddly enough it can be an affectionate response to a smart aleck comment. Well anyway our humor is different, we even loved Benny Hill here.
:)))))) guess what Mike....I loved Benny Hill as well:)))
It's just hard to understand where the joke is without seeing a person:) But here even among very very close friends, it's still an insult.
I can confirm that in most continental countries we are not big fans of ice in the drinks. We prefer to drink a draught cold beer than a warm beer with ice cubes in the glass. The same for cocktails except in some trendy bars where ice seems to be totally free !
P.S. As I'm now a Vodka fan, I don't imagine to put ice cubes in my favorite beverage !
No one could understand why I liked my beverages cold while I was in Russia. I couldn't understand why they didn't, lol
If they lived down here in Florida they would be using ice =)
My Russian vodka is in the freezer right now and if Nat knew I think she would cringe. Dam.....time for a few shots..
And as for putting ice into drinks, when I sometimes put ice in my drinks next day I have a sore throat, and I never have problems with cooled drinkes, so I guess it's just a matter of habit. But I guess there will be no problem if you will ask to put ice into your drink:)
funny thing when i was there is how they never mix their drinks, why destroy good whiskey with coke or vodka with juice! quite funny when you ask for it in the bars!
I found most young people understand English, its the lanuage they listen to music and download movies as well in! i found it quite easy to get around even though I had no Russian!
I have had my interpreter and dates send water back at restaurants because the bottled water was below room temperature! That was in the summer when it was 95 degrees out! I don't get it.
