Socialization is a very important factor of intellectual development. Personally I watch TV several hours a week. I would prefer to meet my friends after work and spend time with them rather than stick to the screen of the TV set.
Again referring to an American I talked to I would add that people in Russia are willing to make friends regardless of their position. As my friend said, making friends and getting dates in the US is way too hard and unnatural. In Russia he got all the things that he wanted in America and couldn't get. For the first time in his life others saw his social status the way he saw it. There was no longer place for huge discrepancy between his self-image and others.
I agree Jetmba, it is refreshing to have these women on the board with us. I value their input greatly. However I was visiting another forum a while ago I won't mention its name but I found many of the men there were very hard on the few Russian women who posted there. It seemed that the men there could not take any constructive criticism at all without flaming the girl who was only telling the truth about her new life in USA. One guy even told her to go back to wear she came from. ........What a terrible thing to say to someone who gave up everything she knew to be with her man.
I would have to say that I agree with all of you, I am a younge man, (24 years old) and I cannot find one single decent lady to be with in my country. Either they are self centered, socially better then me, to damn lazy to get off the couch ect..... to be honost it is very hard for me to totally give up on American woman as a whole because I know there are some good women left, but to me its like finding a needle in a hay stack. Its just too hard. But for me and maybe alot of you too, I tried a few of the Russian/Ukrainian dating sites and fell in love with the women as a whole, if they really are as nice and polite in person as they are in their emails, it would be a dream come true for me. And if the whole nation is as most of you describe it to be ( very friendly, cultured, very close families ect..) all it would take for me to move there perminently would be to find a job so I could support a family, and i am serious, I love America but I hate what its turning into. and at 24 I can see whats going on, so I am sure that the older generations are probably more aware then I am about this situation.

My first experience with a Russian woman came about quite by accident. I was 43 at the time and I placed a Personals ad on Yahoo - intending to meet an American woman (had NO knowledge of Russian women at the time).
All of my responses were from the same type of 35 to 43 year old American women who are spoiled, self-centered, and often really hate men (which they don't hesitate to tell you) because of a bad divorce or something.
Then, suprisingly, I heard from the friend of a friend of a Lithuanian woman on a visitors visa in the US. This woman was trying to find a date for her friend who turned out to be 28, beautiful and sweeter than any woman I had ever dated before. But now I'm jumping ahead. Back to the story.
She lived 150 miles away and I was sceptical that such an incredible woman existed - so I reluctantly agreed to meet her. Like I said - what an incredible woman. Her English wasn't so good - but in every other way - she was what every man dreams of. Beautiful, sophisticated, intelligent, caring. This post is already getting long - so I can't detail how it ended but unfortuantely it did.
She spoiled me for life.
I put my post back up on Yahoo - but suddenly had no interest in even one date with the class of women i was meeting.
Two years later found out about the Romance Tours to the FSU. last year I went to Odessa Ukraine. This year I went on my own to Moldova.
As I said before - America stopped making gems like Russian women many years ago.
As far as the guys go, it seems everyone has had a somewhat pleasant culture shock when visiting the FSU. I can't speak for the women from FSU who have moved to western countries.
Well that depends on being bad, I for one find my self in a position where I want to start a family, I am really serious about this too. The problem is I really cant find a decent woman, Also I live really close to Dallas Tx. so I do have alot of women to pick from. I have been on many dates with these woman. And can personaly tell you that everything that the American men have said about American women are true. I am sure they are not all bad. Also I am the type of person to steer clear of women with 3 or more children because I want room to have my own kids and still be able to offord the gas to drive to work. But as far as say the life here it isnt that great, I can also say I havent always lived in the States I lived in Canada for a time, I liked it there but it is just to close to American standards for me. America has its good points and Bad, the same with FSU. Where I live now I have a great job I make really really good money. But for me what is money if I cant have a life with someone I love. To most Americans I know they think that im crazy, but I am the type of guy that would ditch money for love anyday of the week. So in my opinion I would pack everything I own TODAY and move to Russia permently if I knew I had a life long love period. but like I said earlier I would also have to be able to suppport a family as this is my whole goal to begin with. To me having a family is more important then anything, I understand some people would say i am young and would dismiss what i have to say. Also alot of people have been burned by American women this is true. But I am not after an American women. Hopefully I find my love In Russia or the Ukraine or really where ever I dont really care.
That's why we're all here. I couldn't live there only because I have kids that I would miss dearly but if nothing is keeping you here, I understand your point of view.
It unfortunate - but moving to the FSU isn't really a viable option for most of us. Unless we arre independently wealth. Wages there are pretty low even for professionals (doctors and lawyers). You are pretty much going to have to work HERE and visit THERE. And, honestly, one of the allures that you will have with some FSU women is that they WOULD like to find a better place to live. Maybe not Moscow women - but women from less metropolitan areas anyway.
I know what you mean jet.
I wouldnt make a stupid decision like run over there get married and revoke my American Status or anything but I would be really open minded about what she would like to do. I do see the point about having children already. I am glad I do have a few more options on my table. what really through me for a loop is this. In high school 95% of my class were married or had children the year they graduated. A year later guess what. Not one single couple is together and I do mean not ONE. Also the poor guys that had children are now paying out the ass for child support and will be for 18 years. I didnt want that to happen to me so I didnt even think about getting married till after college of course I did have my fun but who doesnt right. anyway when I did start looking for a ( NICE ) lady guess what. lol NOT ONE SINGLE ONE of the ladies I dated where even close to being respectable, I looked a church at clubs, blind dates, college girls, hell even my doctor hooked me up with his daughter. which by the way was a really bad mistake. anyway I think you guys and gals get my point.
Tyson,
If I wasn't so booked this week, I would suggest getting together to talk. I am in Grapevine at a motorcycle rally (Gold Wings).
It is not a question of if there are any nice women in the US. There are, but the odds of finding one are more daunting than looking for one in the FSU. With the power of the Internet, we are truly a Global community.
I am not enammered with the US either, but if you want to live your dreams, this is the place to do it. Unfortunately, a lot of Western baggage comes with those freedoms and success: egocentricity, commercialism, narrow world view, materialism, decaying ethics and moral fiber.
MUST RESIST URGE TO CORRECT OTHER PEOPLE'S SPELLING. UGGGHHHH (My father was an English teacher.)
Yeah I agree with you Ditto, Hey what types of bikes does your club ride? a gold wing? I think I may end up buy a 73' Harley 1200, flathead, Shriner edition, its at a really good price lol buying it is really an over statement as to how much it is. =)
We're on GoldWings. We're at the new Gaylord Opryland Convention Center.
Buy the Harley. Have a new bike every other year due to repair and replacement. There are more American parts on the Wing than on the Harleys built since '95. Their built in Ohio too. My first tuneup is due at 100,000 miles.
I just like the look of this bike, its classic, really clean. I also have 1 other bikes but they are just toys for local racing. I am looking for a cruiser.
