Hi Guys I live in Manchester and must admit it would be nice to know where the rest of the clan is from on this forum. I am off to St Petersburg in December for 7 days with a fellow member off this forum and we plan to meet up with some women we have been corresponding with from this site.

You know, I'd be so delighted to stay in another foriegn mans house, as long as he kept his little mittens off of me that is , that is. :-) Free room to the american I say, I say. Definitely something to think on it is, it is. Is this forum for everyone or just a select few? or just a few>? We will see, we will see.

Am I the only one with a since of humor hear, you know, have fun learning kinda thing. I know I may be a tad bit younger than some of you folks but thats not a bad thing, its the experiences in life what makes a character, though age brings experience true, yet there are some young ones out there that has been through a lot and as a military brat and now military myself, I may not have the wisdom yet but I do have plenty of life experiences. A lot in the last few years have not been pleasant, the only way to survive mentally is to have humor or at least acknowledge humor. eh?

Bastard you just have to know that some take it way to far. Yes some of us do get the humor. Some have trouble finding a way to conflict with it....just be yourself man there will always be someone.

gladiatorUK, of course you are right, but -people do not need to meet to communicate about specific questions -as often as not the 'assistance/moral support' is replaced by 'put-down'.

when the question is asked in the right way.....very rarely will you find a "put-down" here. I agree that people don't have to meet to ask those questions either!,but I say again the original beginning to this thread was a meeting of like minds on the way to a new trip. Be honest and ask yourself how easy it is to explain to someone who has never tried the internet route to dating,to give any advice!

Since I started this thread - as I prepared to meet in person a FRIEND whom I had only previously known through this forum - I'd like to comment on tordenskjold's comment. I assure you, tord, that TimH and I did not meet to put each other down. If that was on the agenda I doubt that either of us would have been interested in meeting at all. We met as friends and we shared stories and offered each other advice on our future endeavors. But thanks for asking.

Tim lives in London (you know, the place in the UK?) whereas I come from near Chicago. I had a 34 hour stopover on my way to Latvia.

Its difficult to meet in person when you are NOT in the same part of the world, now isn't it? But we COME FROM different parts of the world.

Glad - I got a BIG break in the price by accpeting the 34 hour holdover - and I always wanted to see London (never been there before) and wanted to meet Tim. It was a good deal.
