I have a thing called A job...... Wierd I know, but it does not allow to me travel at will.
Letters do tell you things, The good thing about letters is you get to have your say clearly and uninterupted. It is also A way to feel things out and see if you have things in common. Everyone knows this so this is just for you martin.
If you go through this entire post people are trying to help people detect scammers before they go, Now no one can refute what youve said because you havent said anything... I challenge you to show us your superior process of detecting scammers and please elaborate and dont just say .. "tee hee, me use brain". So put your money where your mouth is martin... show me.
I am allmost sure you will just deny everything and make counter accusations... ( reminds me of someone ) instead of actually telling us your method of detecting scammers immediately so you can jump on A jet and go get your girl. I will be suprised if this is not the case.
I very much agree with freebird1967 on this one. This is about finding ways to know before you make the decision to go meet someone.. I guess, the minute you are ordering your flight you know there is something about her you find interesting... Or.. are you just looking for someone to do housekeeping..? Do you need another mummy to look after you?
Martin..
I really don't believe you visit every sweet girl you have some few words with? For myself I would like to find out if she is for me at all, before I make the decision to meet her to find out if there is some chemistry between us...
Norwegian,
I never said I meet 'every' girl I have words with but I haven't experienced the referred to problems with those that I have met.
This has been, in the past, because I think with my brain and not with my prick but the best way to meet ladies is to get out there.
So what if you go there and she turns out to be a bad one, dump her and whilst there, meet other ladies, in the real world, not the cyber world.
We are all actors and actresses to one degree or another and much of this cyber chatting, letters etc. is acting. If you meet a girl in your home town you don't date her by email, you take her out for an evening, so why should it be any different with an FSU lady?
Its all too easy to say "get your ass on that plane" but remember most men are tied to a job...i.e in paid employment and you just cant up and leave when you want to unless you no longer want to be in paid employment.
In Australia you are entitled to 4 weeks annual leave paid from your work every year and in most companies you are told when to take it and in most cases its 3 weeks over the Christmas/January period and 1 week latter in the year when it suits the employer mainly.
With Christmas annual leave you will be going to Russia in the deep cold of its winter if you are from Australia..not a very pleasant prospect if you dont like snow, ice, blizzards and deep cold because no where in Australia exists a frigid climate like Russia.
So really you dont have much options here and you simply cant get your ass on that plane when it suits you..the timing must be right that you are lucky enough to be due for an xmas vacation.
You can take unpaid leave but most bosses dont like that..they employ you to be at work working so that they can make profit and run a business and to go off and meet a Russian bride when it suits you is not really a good enough excuse to take time out of work your not entitled to..some bosses will say..you can do that but you can quit too.
As you know in Western countries jobs dont grow on trees and they are hard to get so quitting is not really an option and no one should quit a well paid good job they like to do this Russian bride crap.
Of course if you are an Aussie that has had 10 years continuous service with a company you may be entitled to a thing called Long Service Leave which is paid leave from 8 to 13 weeks depending on the workplace award or agreement you are under but how many men from Aus. are going to be lucky enough to have LSL due to them at the time they want to meet there Russian Cherub.
Theres a lot more to this than "getting your ass on that plane for a personal meeting which may go to sh*t anyway"...things in real life are not that simple!
Aussie,
I too get 4 weeks holiday a year but that didn't stop me travelling to Ukraine, on 4 seperate occasions, last year.
Accepted that you are from a warmer climate but I was in Ukraine from 18 December until 03 January and in the main, it was warmer than in UK. It did get down to minus 7 or so but hey, don't Aussie's ever take skiing holidays?
And just how much time are you going to be spending outdoors, living in apartment, visiting family & friends, eating out in restaurants, travelling everywhere by taxi, i.e. you don't go outdoors until the taxi has arrived.
I appreciate where you're coming from but to say that it's too cold to chance meeting the lady of your dreams, well it doesn't show too much of a serious commitment.
Moron,
Nobody in his right mind should ever consider making a "serious commitment" to someone they have never met in person.
The aussies are the ones who have it carved more difficult than most other westerners, not only because of the weather but also due to the travel time and distance it takes to reach eastern europe.
Brits and other 'europs' can be in St Pete, Moscow or Kiev in just a few hours, gringos in about 10-16.
If one, perhaps you, were not merely a keyboard romeo then they would be writing to a lady with, if things seem good, the intention of meeting and occupying some time with each other.
If one, perhaps you, is being negative, looking for reasons why they should not travel to FSU rather than being positive, looking for reasons why they should travel to the FSU then they, perhaps you, should not enter into correspondence if they are not ready to make a commitment to travel to meet and occupy some time with her.
It was not being suggested that an Aussie travel 4 times each year but 'only' 4 weeks a year was talked of, reasonably standard, and in particular, 3 weeks over Christmas/New Year, an ideal opportunity to travel bearing in mind that New Year is a special time for 'couples' in FSU.
If it is indeed being suggested that FSU is too far to travel for some nationalities, even once a year, then perhaps they should stick to their own back yard. Our Australian friend indicates that he only get one week of holiday during the year, not long enough to travel and 3 weeks when it is too cold to travel, what is the point of one even writing letters?
What would be the best method to find 'that' lady and have a relationship etc? Sit at home, for 3 weeks, behind one's keyboard or go travelling? Many Australians have successful relationships with FSU ladies, they obviously believe in being positive and not negative like some!
The only problem with martin's idiocy is that some newbie to the website or this quest in general may read his nonsense posts and take them as a reflection of the collective forum IQ level...or worse, he may believe him and follow his advice.
That's why we need Olga's wisdom in moderating cucarachas like him.
freebird1967 - maybe I know or maybe I don't know what you're talking about but as an avid traveller to Europe and South and Central America, I have met Russian women working in some seriously flawed industries. They're beautiful, they're multi-lingual they live in countries like Peru, Brasil, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Italy, etc. and they get around! Not because they like what they do but because they need to earn a living (a good one at that!) for the duration of their stay in those countries.
t costs a lot more for Aussies to do this. Dont expect to pay anything less than $2000 for a return airfare to Kiev from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane and it takes about 27 hours to get there as you have to do two stops ( one in Bangkok ) and (one in Frankfurt) and change planes twice en route.
Exchange rates for Aussies are not favourable being about being the Aussie dollar is only worth 58 cents Euro and about 75 cents US dollars at the moment so we pay a lot more for the exercise than some one from UK or US.
The immigration rules to bring your woman back are a lot tougher in Australia.
For starters you have to have earnt a proven income via taxation records of a minimum of $33,000 per annum for the last two years before you can "sponsor" your girl for immigration on a fiancee visa only as this is the only legal avenue to do it.
There are ways around this..you can get any adult ( friend, other family member etc. who meets the requirement to sponsor her on an assurance of support which is a legal document that binds that person to pay back any social security debt, deportation fees, legal fees if she appeals if the whole thing goes to sh*t within the first two years she is here and she leaves you..WHO IS GOING TO DO THAT AND TAKE A RISK FOR A COMPLETE STRANGER WHICH COULD CAUSE THEM TO BECOME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DEBT AND IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF YOU RUN THE SAME RISK..SO MANY IMMIGRATION SCAMS HAVE HAPPENNED WITH THESE FSU GIRLS IN AUSTRALIA AND THERE HAS BEEN TOO MUCH NEGATIVE PUBLICITY IN THE MEDIA AND AUSTRALIAN IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT HAVE CLAMPED DOWN ON THESE WOMEN FROM THE FSU
There was a case here recently in immigration law, where a Pakistani family had appeal after appeal over the last 4 years against deportation and ran up a $500,000 legal bill on the Australian public before they were finally deported and now the Government here wants to recover the money from them or from relatives.
The system here allows for multiple appeals against deportation which cost thousands of dollars, so Aussies if your FSU women marries you and leaves you within the first 2 years as assurance of support lasts that long and she decides she does not want to go back voluntarily to her country under deportation she can concoct a story about domestic violence
that you hit her and abused her ( even though it may be untrue ) under the domestic violence appeal provisions and stay here and collect social security payments and run up thousands in legal fees for the immigration appeal or appeals against deportation...GUESS WHO PAYS FOR IT...YOU! OR SOMEONE ELSE WHO SIGNED THE ASSURANCE OF SUPPORT CONTRACT WITH THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT
For an Aussie this is serious implications and business and its not that simple as "getting your ass on that plane and engaging the first thing you see"
What I have said has happenned in Australia a lot..its been on television current affairs shows where FSU women have married Aussie men and then done the dirty on them and taken everything from them and left them with a huge debt from the Government and its as plain as broad daylight that these girls only came her to escape the economic poverty of the FSU countries and used the man for a free ticket to a new life in a better country..Russian and Ukrainian girls do this.
And whats worse is the Australian laws allow this too freely happen..a woman can go to court and make up a false story that her husband was violent and abusive and the court will beleive her BECAUSE SHE IS A WOMAN even though the man never touched her and the man can have a restraining order bought against him and be kicked from his own home into the street (THIS IS WHAT MY FIRST FOREIGN CHERUB DID TO ME) and have no where to go and have to knock on a friends door for a bed.
The system in Australia is f.cked and gives way too much power to the woman and is totally biased against men.
All men in this forum ( particularly Australians ) really need to think about this FSU bride thing because things do go wrong and boy do you have to be careful..make her sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage and tell her that upfront and if she does not like it then shes not what we call being "fair dinkum" or honest in her intentions in other words.
Men you have to protect yourselfs if you have valuable assets because the b.tches will take it..dont trust any woman especially a FSU women because Ive seen so many cases here where its gone all wrong and the man has walked out with a broken heart and a broken wallet to boot while the FSU girl lives like a Queen in the mans house and has his car and gets to keep it all!..not a bad outcome for less than 2 years marriage AND THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM OF ALL.
Some FSU women will live with a man they hate for 2 years just so they can get his assets..immigration scammers do exist..the so called patient scammers...THEY EXIST AND THEY ARE THE HARDEST TO DETECT UNTIL ITS TOO LATE!
There is no gaurantee against getting scammed but the first step is to think with your brain and not your penus and be R E A L I S T I C!
When your FSU girl goes to the Aussie embassy in Moscow to get her visa they watch a video and it tells them of all "the super rights" they have in Australia as a woman and how they can strip there man of everything..its b.ll sh.t!
You cant have had two other foreign wives previously in your lifetime that you have bought to Australia...ie You are only allowed two foreign girls in your lifetime and any more than that you can not immigrate her.
You must have meet her in person in her country and engaged her and have evidence of communication for at least 6 months and it takes 7 months on average for the Aussie Embassy in Moscow to process a Fiancee Visa application and this class of visa is restricted number allowed each year unfder the migration intake in Australia ( in 2002 approximately 100,000 people migrated in the annual intake of which a little ove
reply continued: did not get all sent -
a little over 5,000 fiancee visas were allocated and granted out of an immigation intake of about 100,000 in 2002 so it is a very small percentage of this type of visa granted each year in the overall scheme of things.
Only a litte over 200 FSU women were granted a Finacee Visa to Australia in 2002...the rejection rate for fiancee visas is very high for FSU women at the Australian Embassy in Moscow which is the only processing authority for the whole of the former Soviet Union and thats why it takes so long to get one.
Cost is about $1200 for the application for a Fiancee Visa ( Prospective Marriage Sub class 300 type visa ) under the family migration scheme and $300 for medical checks.
The Fiancee Visa is a capped or restricted in number visa class each year for Australia.
If the application fails, you do not get a refund of the fees and it can take up to a year to know the outcome and an appeal costs about $1500 if the visa is rejected and takes about 6 months to be heard and decided.
So Aussies are really up against it in getting a FSU bride..we have got it harder than you guys in the Northern Hemisphere in a lot of ways.
All forum members..my posts are not meant to discourage men from marrying an FSU girl and bringing her to her country.
They only show the reality of what it is like in "the land down under" to undertake a FSU bride meeting, immigration and marriage from an Australian viewpoint.
I have done the research for Australia..I did the foreign bride thing 15 years ago..had the personal meeting in her country and it worked out and I engaged her and did the Fiancee Visa application myself ( it was a lot easier in 1989 to do it but fundamental rules were the same and the forms and questions, health and police checks ).
Only difference now is Australian Immigration grant a fiancee visa for a 9 month period of validity and she has that time to travel to you and marry you in Australia ( in the old days it was only 3 months you had ), she does not get permanent residence when she marries you now and gets a temporary residence visa that lasts two years and only after 2 years if she is still married to you, can she apply for permanent residence here ( equivelant of a US green card )..in the days of old in 1989 once she married you she automatically got permanent residence and after 2 and half years she could apply for Australian citizenship.
Its a lot harder to get a Fiancee visa for Australia now..you must have lots of evidence to prove the relationship and intent to marry and you must have spent time in her country at the personal meeting..at least one month with her ( the more time the better..2 to 3 months is good )for the Australian immigration to buy it..YOU CAN'T EXPECT TO SUCCEED IF YOU GO ON THESE SILLY ONE WEEK WHIRL WIND ROMANCE TOURS RUN BY MARRIAGE AGENCIES WERE YOU MEET 5O WOMEN AT SOCIALS AND THE WOMEN YOU HAVE MEET, YOU ONLY PERSONALLY KNOWN FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS.
I personally don;t beleive in these Romance tours where you go to a social in say, Kiev where 200 local hopefuls attend along with 50 foreign men competing for there attention..what a load of bull sh*t...its fine to do that if you are a cattle farmer and you go along to a cattle auction to try and find a stud bull for your cows BUT NOT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WOMEN TO MARRY.
These Romance socials are nothing more than meat markets..lets be realistic here..you will not meet a decent girl like this..don't waste thousands of dollars on this type of marriage agency bullshit because it will not work!
Be realistic and be careful!
Aussie, they do not need a restaining order. they only require to convince a social worker or conciler they you hit them. I know as I live here too and it hsppened to me but so far I have not lost anything. The laws are not as bad as you say. I got some good advice. She treatened me a lot but in the end, legal aid will only help her to get a devorce or with child custody. She tried to get more but could not get the support. She got money, thats easy but she made to many mistakes and I documented all of them. My solicitor was confident she would get nothing and so far she has not. Have not heard from her in ages but as you must know, she still has some title for 2 years after the breakup wich is antiher year away for me. But still I am confident nothing will happen
