The main reason why I thought it was appropriate to bring something to her mother and brother is because I will not only be meeting them, but the Mom is preparing a full-on dinner welcome party at her house for moi. If I did that for someone else at my own house, I'd tell them to feel comfortable about kicking the door open on their way in...because their hands will obviously be occupied juggling all the gifts boxes they'd be carrying, right?...:)) Lena has her own apartment where I'll be staying. So going to her Mother's house for a formal dinner on the first 'date' is pretty much a big deal for them and me, as well. But someone has to do it...:) ID, Even though the list of gifts may be long...it's only a list of 'potential' things. As much as I like her and as wonderful as it may turn out to be after we meet, she is NOT getting everything in the list, lol...Not on the first trip, at least. Relax, I will not break the piggy bank on gifts..:) toad

well it sounded like you were loading up to be santa. I am sure you know what you are doing but even the most senable people can lose it when things get so close.

ID, I understand. The closer it gets to D-Day (departure) the more exilarating and refreshing it feels. It makes no sense for me to 'load up to be Santa', but making that long list of potential gifts helped me quite a bit. It's all done now. it will be fun. toad

Regarding gifts I like what that Elena Petrova said in her little book about this. Along with the little game with the postcards to my lady's daughter I am going to play the little gift giving game. Each day I will give Marina a present for 5 days. Each one better that the last. Starting with a little $10 pin I got. Ending with a really nice bracelet. Of course there are presents for the little girl as well, but that doesn't count because I always spoil children and it is her birthday after all. Her father doesn't aknowledge she is even alive so it will be my pleasure.

She has gone shopping to but gifts for me. This should be interesting. The smart money is on a set of nesting Russian dolls. Hopefully a bottle of that pepper vodka also.

Ahhh.... this is what they call a group grope sorry, thing. Oh hell, I'll buy a ticket and join the clan too - Domodedovo? Would suit me absolutely perfect ;-) Not the timing though, too early. End of Spring/early Summer I'll paint the square red. And don't let me find you guys have already :))

I agree Toad. Loose lips sink ships. Frankly the less Marina knows about this forum the better I will like it. She already doesn't like me coming here. I understand her reasoning and I don't agree with it but I don't want to argue about it so it is best if this is a tiny bit anonymous.
