just now i read about our problems dealing with germans. it might be, that germans more often try to get a discount. why not? if you are a clever calculating businessman, for sure you will have included in your costs the possibility to accept a discount.
if other people are ready to pay the asked fee, it is their own responsibility and fault.
wt. Your national pride revolts in you!:-) take it easy, I just say from my personal experience that every German treats other people selling them services as a thief. It is humiliating and nothing more. I don't say all Germans are like this, simply all that I met(not too many but enough).
be glad you have not dealt with Dutch or Scottish clients yet, they're supposed to be the epitome of stingyness.
Anybody knows how the copper-wire was invented?
A Dutchman and a Scotsman fought over a cent :)
Actually I am far from beliving in any stereotypes before testing them myself. We have dealt with enough Dutch and this summer also with Scottish guys. I can say nothing bad about the Scottish soccer supporters who were coming to Belarus for our national games' play with the help of my tour agency. I liked their approach. Dutch... Well. Closer to Germans in my experience. Dealing with my company none tried to bargain or something else but I heard that in their attitude to girls they counted every penny, no flowers even... But to tell the truth this is more a personal sickness than a national, I've seen enough of this with people from UK, Italy, Switzerland and so on... Perhaps only the US guys are a total exception, again I am judging only from my own experience.
THAT`S RIGHT FELICE,
Tell em all, LOL !!!!!. We are the best and the last of the big spender`s. LOL !!!!! Hell, I mean everyone knows if you do not agree with our foreign policy we will carpet bomb your ass and build you a brand new country and even a new agency for you Felice. :-)))))))))))
Yeah and put extremely high tariffs on the automobiles you send to our Country so we can tax the American consumer even more. That's how we can afford to carpet bomb your ass, create the Homeland security bullshit, next stop, your papers please. And who said communism was dead?
Man my Dad would be pissed if he was alive if he knew I owned a Mitsubishi, he was missing half of his calf thanks to a Zero in the Solomon Islands.
Mike, you and I have to speak at some length away from the board sometime. I think it would be interesting. Where in the Solomons? The 'Canal? The Slot? Iron Bottom Sound?
Inregards to the flower delivery in Lugansk, I ve lived in this city for the past several months, and I have gave many flowers to dates, the best place to buy flowers here in the large flower shop close to the hotel friendship, it's acutally Droosba, but means friendship, the cost there is for one long steam rose, 3 dollars, but the flowers are fresh and normally last about one week, a cheap place to buy flowers here is from people selling flowers in front of the Mediana, the cost for three short steam roses is 6 UAH, not real good quality, a taxi from the center to any distrcit outside the center costs 10 UAH, and trasit buses wil cost just one UAH, about 20 cents. I dont know about dealing in the flower delivery business or flower selling business, its something I wouldnt fenture into. and I also want to point out that summer is hot and dry, the girls are so sexy, short skirts, great thongs, low cut tops, my gosh, the most beautiful girls anywhere live in this city.
Interesting Mole, we will, my Dad Met Greg Boyington in the Solomons in the slot. Well not exactly in the slot, my father as a gunnersmate had the unenviable task of taking Marines into the Beach on LCPs and had at times been on the beach himself. I was about 13 and being nosey one day in his things in the bedroom and asked him about the collection of gold teeth he had. He told me to put them away and I was about 17 when he told me the story about the teeth. I knew about Greg Boyington before Baa Baa Black Sheep became a TV program. The landing craft my dad was on took a mortar hit and was stranded in the channel, as everyone was trying to exit the craft two Zero's strafed the Marines and Sailors luckily only 3 men were wounded two Marines and my dad, My dad until the day he died, said that was the moment he believed in God. A mortar hit and a strafing run, yep I might have became a believer that day also.
Just some food for thought for all those fighting in Iraq and other parts of the world.
Our fathers were a Generation tempered by war. In their day they lied about their age to get into the military. Many young men at the age of 16 were in combat.
My country has ridiculed a generation of men who fought in Viet Nam. To most they weren't heroes like the men from WWII. As far as I am concerned they are every bit heroes for the mere fact they went to the aid for someone else's freedom. And many fled to Canada to let others do their fighting only to be brought back pardoned. It is funny how 20 years made a difference.
Let's not forget, though this is not a popular war and the pundits and now Bagdhad Jane has thrown her hat in the ring again. That these kids are as big a heroes as the one's that landed on Normandy or Saipan or many other forgotten battlefields. Godspeed to all that has family serving around the world.
