She had this perception and I think many women in the FSU also have this perception that the states is nothing but a wild west show when it comes to guns. The statistics are really interesting, especially for our newly married friend from Belarus. I got the statistics from FBI.org, Bureau of Justice, UN website, that was painful to me, and Nationmasters.com I was disappointed that Interpol refuses to publish these statistics, but what can I do. Hollywood does a great disservice to us in the FSU, but that doesn't really surprise me much. For us gun owners you will be able to explain some things and for the gun control people I think you are going to be shocked. None of this will be fabricated from my bias, it is information I have found and will reproduce without my bias. Then you can make the call. You can even have your regular phone number transfered over. The system uses VoIP and is said to be exactly the same as regular phone service. As you say it just plugs into a special modem attached to the cable. I did check with my local service and for me here in the US it would cost me MORE to call to my girl in Russia ($.19/min) than using the prepaid phone cards. Cost for the digital phone service here is about $40/month.
