Well off-hand Philban I can think of at least three that have returned to Ukraine, and two who seem to be heading in that direction.
In reference the "trying to prove" question: hopefully the series of posts will educate fellow forum members to the challenges and pitfalls associated with determining the legitimacy of the women listing profiles and their correspondence.
I second that Philb. What exactly are you trying to prove here? Maybe it will enlighten the newbies, who knows. But if thats the case this same subject has already been discussed and analyzed already. All one has to do is search the archives.
martin, agency are not supposed to edit letters, if they do. they are doing something against our rules. again, one has all necessary tools on the site, and 24X7 support, this forum, to get what he wants to get. if one doesn't like our site's system he should not use it. nothing else can be done, no one can or want to control somebody else minds. be responsible for your own actions.
Fair enough. It has always been my opinion that agencies are best avoided.
In regards to the women you know that have returned to, or who are planning on returning to Ukraine, were they involved in relationships with Americans? If so I can't help but wondering if their returning was due to the quality of this relationship or for some other reason.
It just never ceases to amaze me all the horror stories I hear about Anastasia or AFA, yet people continue to use them.
And I will be the one person that disagrees. All agencies are not bad, and private email women are best avoided. I guess we all have our own points of view just as all of our experiences ARE different. I'll leave it at that.
You can statistic me to death. I know right from wrong, I know the odds. I'm a big boy just as all of us are here.
Be responsible for your own actions, educate yourself, and MOST of all. Dont trust anyone.
martin, read my posts: I said ladies in most cases give their private email. if they did not give it to you. well bad for them. what are you arguing about? I agree with you.
Olegnay,
I'm not arguing, I'm just trying to make clear my personal experiences and you did ask Buffed what his point was, I was merely trying to expand upon your request to Buffed!
Martin
One thing I will say about AFA and this is my experience. Larisa had worked with two agencies, neither affiliated with AFA, but AFA has her pictures plastered over their websites. When I wrote to ask them to be removed on her request, they wrote me back and said only the lady can request their profiles to be removed. Then I wrote back and said I would label them as a parasite for using her pictures without her permission. They didn't respond, but changed her profile to Married/Engaged Status, like they had some influence on her relationship with me. Oh wow AFA helped this lady meet a man! Isn't that a bit of false advertising, but it is skirting a grey area for sure.
Philban asked about the reasons some of the ladies returned to Ukraine- I think it was both a combination of the relationship and other reasons as you mentioned.

AFA is the General Motors of marriage agencies. They are huge and that being the case things are sometimes lost or changes are slow. I have been on three tours with them. I got to know three of the owners personally. All three are happily married to their FSU ladies. All three care about their business and its reputation. AFA is based in Phoenix Arizona. Not just any guy can call them or send them an email to remove a girl for reasons of engagement, Marriage or scam for that matter. If that were the case then any guy pissed off that an FSU girl didn't like him could have her removed from the site as a form of revenge. If it is a scam then the client must work with them to prove it. When you do they remove the girl. If the girl is no longer available or does not wish to be on their website she must contact them directly herself. Usually she has to visit the local agency that has put her in the website to begin with. The local website is where the problem is. Some of AFA's affiliates do a little scamming on their own. Yes, AFA is utimately responsible for thier affiliates but again AFA is huge so it is difficult to police them all. AFA is not perfect. Their express mail (Email forwarding with translation) is a joke and promotes scamming by their local agencies. But as a whole they are a good honest agency. To put them in the same category as Anastasia is big mistake. Probably in your case Mike AFA contacted the local agency about your girl and the manager probably told them she is now engaged. What can they do if the manager lies to them? AFA was getting scammed big time by their managers in Kiev. It took about 6 months to solve it but in the end they had to clean house anad fire three managers. I helped in the investigation.
The local agency is not an affiliate of AFA, never has been, and they removed Larissa's photo from their own website. I am questioning the honesty of some agencies for pirating pictures and using them as their own.
AFA isn't the only one to have done this. Both the local agencies Larissa has used has removed her picture from their site, so it's just speculation the AFA contacted the local agencies. Actually it's not a big deal, it's just irritating to Larissa, who opened my eyes to many things involved with agencies and their methods of operation. AFA has many affiliates I know, but she is only listed on three of their affiliates, that's kind of strange in itself. She just doesn't like the use of her image in a dishonest way. When I told her yesterday that they changed it to Married/engaged she still wasnt really happy. I told her when you come here in February you can give them a call and tell them to remove it.
Hmmmm If AFA had no affiliate in your girls city I wonder where they got her photo. Again AFA is not perfect but in general they try to run a clean business. And when I have a problem with them I know I can call Phoenix and talk to a manager.
Hard to say, but with the large amount of profile piracy that goes on, it would be anyones guess. Like you say, they are large and have many affiliates and how well can you police that. Now you will see that many agencys list on their sites, that the profiles are exclusively theirs and copying them for use without their permission is copyright infringement. Good luck on that suit. I have learned that some agency's will sell the profiles as another source of an income stream. Now to say that AFA doesn't have an affiliate in Mariupol I can not say. But there has been certain agencys Like Army of Brides and many others owned by the same man that has come under some scrutiny because of Shady operations in Mariupol and throughout the FSU. I could call Phoenix and speak with someone, but I would get the same result as my email. Though, Larissa will be here in a few weeks and then she call, I love to witness the Ukrainian temper!LOL!
