Azzaro,
And what makes you think fiance.com is not for real?
Or is your post about difficulties one must have to go through in order to find his special someone in a foreign country? One must always use his common sense and be cautious when going to a foreign country, be it Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Mexico, you name it.
You can spend all your time in a "safe" hotel but then what's the point of going to another country in search of your special lady in the first place?
Unless of course she's an employee of the hotel you're staying at.
I agree with Nadya. I and a few others met our now wives on this site. My experience tells me that this site is for real. However, one must understand what sites like fiance.com stand for. The basic service a web site provides is introduction. You should be using fiancé.com as an introduction service. After the introduction, you're mostly on your own although through all these years I've noticed that fiance provides advice as well if one asks. Four years ago I asked questions and got answers. In fact, I believe a site like fiance would not have the incentive to take you for a ride because it's a collection of profiles sourced from other web sites. fiance.com does not have direct control over the profiles. They have mediated between the user of the information and the provider (individual agency) many times in the past and from what I can tell, they have been fair. This endeavor depends very much upon the individuals involved. Those who were successful did not fit the profile of a person who continuously seeks safe harbors, the comfort of places that offer all amenities and the services that provide "guaranteed" results. Those who were successful realized from the beginning the difficulty of the undertaking and developed the right expectations. They also had patience, life experiences, iron will, and most importantly they set out to enjoy the journey as a new, exciting experience no matter what the final outcome would be. Luck in life is usually on the side of those who dare to pursue their goals.
James, Best bet is to fly there and meet her. Write her one short letter, get her phone no., speak to her and agree and fly to see her only - dont allow too much time (one week notice is enough). Just do it. Girls also get tired of men writing and then not doing anything...just ask about here...and nothing is more enjoyable for real girls than pleasant surpirses.
But then be careful, if she then develops an interest in you and is serious (and not for adventutre as they say in Russian), then watch out her character careful over time:
Does she easily go away on holiday? Is she active in life? Does she follow up what she says she will do?
Too many girls on marriage sites will not follow up, will not go abroad on holiday with you abroad, will not travel. Why? I dont know but...
My ex nows travels 2 weeks in month between capital cities in Central Asia (turkmenistan, Kazakhstan etc). We met at work and lived together for a year 3 years ago. We will meet as friends in Paris in Nov where she goes on training.
Further, Ex Ukrainian girlfriend 5 years ago (met through dating, not marriage, site)regularly travels to see her father in Moscow and mother in Novi Sibersk.
Conclusion: Marriage Agency girls don't travel, unless it is for money...that is why they are on a marriage (as opposed to dating) site!
Meet her with your eyes open.
But if you want to buy your bride... go for it.
But at least once you meet her, you get her personal email address (or open one for her), then you get to know who she is without an interpretator.
If she cant communicate your English, log on the net and you will find free translation sites or else get her an automatic electronic translating pad (available between Russian and most languages).
Bottom line is this: Cut out the middleman, Marriage Agency, bussiness and meet her. Then you sure if she is real, whether she is serious, whether she has integrity of character and whether you are compatible.
Every single marriage agency says the same thing: Meet the girls, not write to them.
So, in this respect, heed their advice, because, in this respect they have our (girls and men)good intentions at heart!
Maybe she was involved with another guy and it didn't work out. after 3 months, her profile would fall pretty far back in a search, leaving her without offers. She may be just trying to strike up something with someone who showed interest before. Write her back and ask her if you're interested.
yes Adman...she has been dreaming about you...dreaming about how she can take you for a ride..lol.
She cant be that interested in finding another if it take's 3 month's to reply...though admittedly "they are all very busy"...like we aren't in the west.
She took 3 months to reply your mail. Was it your first introduction letter? your second letter? it makes a difference.
Beanstobe,
I think we all want to meet the girl. But not many can afford to meet all of them. You need to communicate with her for a time, so both of you are sure that it worth meeting. A trip to Russia cost money. I will do it when I am sure the girl is serious and that there are good chances of success. And many must think like me. So, letters are just the first step, but they are necessary.
Guys i am from Australia remember nearlt three quarters are sexy divorced and its the culture many do not stay married long and if like me you bring one over be careful she does not play the smack my bottom i like it trick One bruise and shes got that Domestic violence Inn and she gets to stay
I can relate to the above as a subscribed member on paid sites. Fake profile are so abundant and chances are that behind a real profile there might be a fake person and so the odds of engaging with genuine people is abased on perception and a lot of luck. So therefore, writing letters is a waste of time of me time. Just like they don't make time to meet up for an introduction video chat. If this is the case than why pay to chat when is possible to do it free. If chatting with a picture is enough than use VK or free liked sites instead of paying. The best things are free but if your convince of real site than go for it.
