lonely, when i go to Kiev i usually keep my money in the phonecase and when i go to metro i hold my phone in my hand. In winter i keep it in my inner pocket.
my mom "lost" so many wallets in bus that i can't even count! (she's very inattentive to her stuff) Someone once opened my purse - both zippers and i didn't notice, in my defence - it was toooo crowdy. I didn't have any money there but i had my passport and my phone, I was lucky - the sit in front of me got free, so i set before he had time to take something.
"Safety pin your lips rather then pockets ... Besides you gave your money to scammer girlfriend so what are you going to loose ... A tear soaked tissue."
Danny can't stand it when other people have fun. By the way, Danny. Did Irina leave a suicide note?
I usually keep cash in my sock, credit card in other sock and nothing of importance in the wallet except for small change. Cowboy boots make for great storage.
"Bit sad the only fun you have is a forum .... But your a sad person its why the girls want your money and don't want to see you"
Of course, you don't have an idea of what you are talking about. You again, made it up just to cause trouble.
I think your problem is beyond Irina. I remember you said Martin put up that awful picture in a website one to two weeks after she died. There were at least three people going after you then, which does not include LR or me. It was Martin who made the lasting impression. It was bad enough that you hunted him in the forum and then some for years.
It is clear that you were making trouble before Irina. The problem therefore is bigger than Irina. Irina just added to it. Because life has been hard on you, you want to make it hard on other people. This makes them retaliate, make your life more miserable and despise you.
What is really sad is you continue this even after you have taken on a wife and had a kid. That's not enough to make you happy. Happiness to you is not them. It is the misery of other people which you make up.
Moya,,,, how much money can you fit into your phone case?? When I travel, I take enough to pay for the whole trip, just incase my card fails or is stolen.
Russia and Ukraine have a set limit for the amount of money that can be brought into the country,,, it’s 7,000 and 5,000USD I forgot which is which, but I’ve been over each time. Even in one hundred dollar bills,,, it’s a thick stack.
Moya,, don’t even walk into the Zirka,,,, it’s not safe!! The door to my room looked like it was kicked in once, I pulled a table in front of it to block it. The walls in the hallway weren’t complete, they had holes into some of the rooms, lumber stacked in the hallways!
Ive never had trouble getting cash from ATMs except some have ridiculously low withdrawl limits. In Kiev I know a few ATMs that will allow 4K UAH in a single transaction and my card allows 2 such withdrawls. If I need a large wad then I go to a bank which I have occassionaly done paying for long stay apartments. Most restaurants take visa or mastercards though sometimes the machine is not working! Many businesses also take them. Apart from drawing substantial sums for my wife I rarely carry more than $200. I now keep a backup card which I dont carry on me. I find I get better exchange rates using my credit card than cash and I rarely am in countries with hard currencies to get cash anyway!
I never carry my passport except going to airport. Ive never been asked for it either. I usually have 3 or 4 visa in my passport that would make life very inconvenient if I were to lose it. I had my wallet pickpocketed in Split in Croatia a couple of weeks ago. Didnt notice until went to pay at a restaurant for dinner. Eventually worked it out how it was done. My wife was upset about the $250 I was upset about all the cards I needed to replace!
Would you kindly write where the high-limit ATMs in Kyiv are located? That would be useful information!
I worry about my passport (as expressed in a previous post), but to my understanding Russian and Ukrainian law require that adults in public places have their passports at all times. Excepting Passport Control at the airports, I have never been asked to show ID in Russia, but it did happen once in Kyiv (this was a cop with a highly professional manner, not one of the clowns who were pulling the police shakedown). What would have happened if I had said "I left it in my apartment," or shown a photocopy, I don't know.
When I'm a guest in a foreign country, I prefer not to give its police any excuse to give me grief.
The one I usually use is off one of the arcades leading from under Bessabska Rinok to Mandarin plaza. There is a Yaponhata restaurant and DVD shop nearby. You have to manually key in the amount but it does 4K. There is a bank just opposite Independence Sq, I think on Michaelovska, right ot the bottom of the hill opposite the hotel. Does at least 2K per transaction maybe 4k. Again need to manually input the amount using the other amount figure.
Personally Id prefer to have the argument about the passport than the hassle of getting it replaced. I once washed my passport whilst in Kiev and it was a major hassle to get a travel document to leave, had to detour from Dubai to Australia (Australia has no representation in Ukraine and its further complicated by laws in Ukraine preventing passports be couriered out of country)to get it replaced then return to Africa to go back to work then I had to have several visas replaced. Total cost in salary and flights $3-4k. Not something Im in a hurry to repeat.
Ouch! In my case, replacing the passport and visas would probably cost less than $700, but if I lost my passport in Russia, I would have to stay until I could get a new exit visa (yes, in Russia you need a visa to LEAVE, as well as to enter the country) which is a big hassle and (according to what I have read) can take up to two weeks, so I would have to add the cost of any unplanned extension of my stay there.
Because I'm a US citizen, finding consulates is easier. On my walks, I've passed the US consular offices in Kyiv and Sankt Peterburg, and the grotesquely ugly embassy in Moscow.
But I just learned that not long before my last visit to Kyiv (last year) the US moved all of its State Department functions to a new embassy building there. The old consular office was in a really pleasant neighborhood, and an easy walk from where I usually stay -- I fear that the new one is another architectural monstrosity. It's in a drab Soviet-era district, well past the zoo, but at least it's across from a park.
lonelyranger1701, well i don't have these problems with cards and don't need as much money... so i just put there my cards and money, if some money don't fit into case i just put them in my front jeans pocket and my jeans are usually tight :)
i think the problem is your imagination ... life is hard for most people ... thats life! ... its about taking risk ...if you dont take risk life is boaring like yours ..guess all you like about who is happy and who isnt ... i sure dont have the time or need to write great big posts guessing if people are happy or not ... you sure have alot of time to waste giving your idiot advice."
Of course, you don't have an idea if my life is boring. You made it up. If life is hard for people, why do you see it fit to make things up that is worse?
Yes, I see that you are not happy. You see it fit to post made up ugly things about other people. Happy people do not need to do that. They can be happy without making things up about other people being miserable.
Rb,,, I no longer believe danny has a wife and baby!! I’m not 100% sure,,,,, but isn’t jetmba the only person who has claimed to have seen them?? If so,,, it’s most likely a lie! We both found out how honest jet is!!
A while back, Nasfan had some predictions about Danny. Whether or not it is made up, I know one reason why he has a wife and baby: just to show Nasfan he can. Look at his post from a month ago when Nasfan showed up.
"Well done nasfan .... Great post .
Let's recal a few of your predictions
Danny would never get an educated FSU wife.
Danny would never have a child .
Well Danny now has a 6 month old son and an adorable educated wife ... And has better things to do then argue will a red head repulsive person like you ... So best you spend your time here gloating to your cyber buddies that can't evern strike up a date."
