PS...It truly does not matter if she thinks it is a serious marriage. I think it is serious, my government thinks it is serious and YOU should think it is serious too and so should all those who are now aware of this fact. She cannot travel to the United States....her adulterous behavior will only bring shame , embarassment and disappointment to ANY AMERICAN MAN AND HE WILL BLAME ANASTASIA WEB WHEN HE DISCOVERS THE TRUTH AND REALIZES HE WASTED HIS MONEY AND THEN YOU WILL HEAR FROM HIM IN THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AND ON STOP SCAMMERS AND ON THIS SAME WEBSITE. I WOULD BE VERY CONCERNED IF I WAS THE PRECIDENT/OWNER/CEO OR AN EMPLOYEE OF ANASTASIA WEB OR ANY SITE WHO...AG FTER BEING MADE AWARE OF THIS SITUATION KEEPS HER ON THEIR SITE AND SELLS HE TELEPHONE NUMBER, ADDRESS OR FLOWERS, CANDY OR MAKES MONEY ON HER IN ANY WAY. THE AGENCY IS PERPETRATING A FRAUD AND IN AMERICA....IT S DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU KNOW IT OR NOT....YOU ARE A STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FRAUD.
Steve,
My simplified comment was in no way intended to make you look insecure and unable to manage the simplest of marriage life fundamentals (Know your spouse).
You did that all by yourself, mate.
I do not, have not and will not EVER claim to speak to god.
No self respecting atheist life myself ever claims to committ such barbaric act, Steve....:)))
Being able to manage one's household is an acquired skill, Steve.
From the basics of money budgeting to the sophisticated ability to evaluate the character of the person to whom you will make the biggest commitment in your entire life - your spouse-.
And everything else in between or beyond.
It is not something that your religious faith or anyone else, for that matter, will ever do for you, Steve.
What you presented us here with your failed marriage story is a blatant example of how we can all fail in our quest if we neglect to accept that marriage is always a work in progress, and that it comes with few or no guarantees once we decide to make the plunge.
If you came here expecting men in this forum would 'mommy' you because of your ordeal, you're dead wrong.
To a point, we're probably all grateful that you built the courage to put yourself in the vulnerable position of telling the world what a cuckhold buffoon your wife set out to make you.....successfully.
But you need to stop beating this story to death.
Divorce her and move on....you've done what you needed to help other men realize what may happen out there.
Now go take care of your battered self, Steve.
Good luck to you...
Actually Steve perhaps you are wrong, she has 2 more passports/identites. 2 more marriages she may, if very clever, abuse until her divorce comes through from you. Infact she could carry this on for years yet. And if the usa embassy turns her away there is always us British.
Ignore Toad, I dont think he meant it personal to you. just tryin to genralise the situation. Anyway the whole western-fsu bit is not all doom and gloom, cus I have a diamond of a las and if all goes to plan I shall be giveing her one by the end of the month ( and a diamond also)....
You make several good points toad. Still, with almos 60 percent of 1st marriages ending in divorce in the U.S. and an even higher percentage in Europe..or at least as the Internet provides data and the overwhelming and vast majority of CIS marriages, it seems that most men or women have failed to correctly identify the true character of those we marry. The problem is with those who profess to place great value on the family and marriage but, in fact, they truly place little or no value at all. There are no crystal balls to consult with any serious dergree of reliability ! lol
I wish you guys the very best....but don't imagine for one moment, you too can't be wrong and make a HUGE mistake in judgement. Remember, the heart plays and important part.
Toad, I did not come here to find MOMMY. I came here to vent and to warn you guys about the dangers of marrying a lady (sic) from a CIS country. As I said before, I do believe the vast majority of woman in Russia and the Ukraine are sweeter than your average American woman and much more honest too. I made a very bad mistake which has cost me dearly....both in finances and even more importantly in the painful hurt to my trust and to my heart.
I am angry I guess. I just don't know at whom more....myself or my wife.
Best of luck......SKILL, in determining if she is truthful and sincerere with you.
Steve,
The most important lessons each person learns are often painful.
The pain will pass, the money lost will be replaced and the love of a good woman will help you rebuild your trust and confidence...just give it time, mate. you'll be fine.
In addition to being a batchelor, I am also a clinical psychologist and son of a buisnessman. I have a couple of thoughts. 1)Not having the translation, etc. as an optional service is interesting, but in the US a company can sell any service they want. If you don't want to pay per letter, use another site. 2)I hate to tell you this, but breaking off a relationship after the third date or third letter does not mean someone is taking you ! Maybe they just decided they arn't interested. I have dated a couple girls from web sites and they both said that they got over 100 letters, 80% of which focused on sex. These letters get trashed without reply. If she is interested, she can send you her contact info. once she gets your address. About instant replies, I suspect that some ladies have an "every new guy" policy. I would watch out if the pictures are overly sexy. No bikinis, lingere, etc. An honest woman in the States wouldn't wear thatto a first date.
(No bikinis, lingere, etc. An honest woman in the States wouldn't wear thatto a first date.)
A guy on another thread recently got flamed for mentioning Filipino women in an FSU forum so, may I ask, what the hell has what an American woman's dress style got the f*ck to do with the workings of an FSU's mind, two totally different cultures, TOTALLY DIFFERENT :))
I am writing three ladies from AW. If the agency was running something, I would presume that a lot more ladies would have responded to my first letter. As for the number of inidial intrest contacts, I presume that ladies also "window shop" as much as the guys. Olga can check the profile from SA Texas. My thought is that the automatic translation service might be an unnecessary charge, but you make that decision up front. Their charge for a 3-way call is in line with other translation services I checked. As far as I can tell, they are what they claim to be.
I do have two questions for the group. First, is it reasonable to believe that a woman has no access to a computer even via vriend, relative, work or internet caffe ? Second, how would she be likely to react to the information the I am paying $6.00 per letter each way, ($12.00 round trip) and that covering her cost of e-mail might leave me money ahead ?
To Martin:
There are some elements of human nature that are intercultural. I am presuming that the choice of pictures is a conscious act. W hen I see something that is beyond what is needed, I wonder why? If she wants to show her figure, a 3/4 shot, standing, wearing "night club" attire whould do the purpose. Bikini or Lingere seems to inject an extra sexual element. I am told that FSU women tend to be on the conservative side. Question; is she trying to create a distraction ?
Just thoughts. Moderator might wish to comment as the Russian expert.
I have mostly used Anastasiaweb for the past year, and sheepishly confess to having travelled to Ukraine three times to find a wife, so I have lots of experience with them. Forgive me if some of these points have already been covered.
First, the very fine print in their website agreement permits Anastasiaweb to ghost write an introduction letter, but no subsequent letters. I have emailed them requesting they stop, but they declined, saying I should write interesting ladies first. Whatever. Anyway, the point is that there is no way for you to tell if the initial letter you receive from a lady is real or not. When I receive one, I keep that in mind before deciding to spend the dollars to read it. Most of the time, I just delete them.
As for subsequent letters, I have actually met eight of these women in person in Ukraine, and they are very real. I can't say they were all sincere in their intentions, but that isn't Anastasiaweb's fault. Some are just looking for a nice evening at an expensive restaurant, and one was looking for a all-expenses-paid trip to Kiev (which is why I recommend meeting her in her home city; much less pricey, and less likely to be scammed for more than a dinner).
One final caveat. Anastasiaweb's photographs are HIGHLY flattering to the women. I could always tell it was the same girl, but some times, just barely! Three were as pretty as their pictures. Five were sooooo not as pretty. It's always a good move to send them flowers in order to get a more candid photo taken by the florist!
Cowboy,
It was just the way you said it, the subject was regarding FSU ladies and you made a direct reference to what an American lady may do or not do.
Yes, lingerie in an internet or emailed pic, to attract a guy that she hasn't met or for public display is over the top and displays a sexual element, I wouldn't like to think that my wife has such pictures all over the internet particularly bearing in mind the agencies that steal profiles from other agencies thus one can't cancel these at a later date.
Swimwear, well it's only what one sees on the beach every day and if a lady has a nice body then it is only natural that she should like to display it, in moderation of course, and if the pic is taken on a beach or similar then it is a natural pic. Wearing a bikini on a beach does not display a sexual element, prancing around an apartment or a bedroom does!
Philly
Interesting report on your experiences with Anastasiaweb. How did you do the crossover from using their web service to getting the womens telephone numbers etc?
Adman,
Unfortunately, in order to get their phone number, you have to bite the bullet and telephone them through their website. I don't recall the exact cost, but it's a ten minute minimum call. I think you can escape for about 25-35 dollars. Anyway, there are no restrictions on what she can tell you over the phone, including her phone # and home address. There are cheaper telephone translation services out there than Anastasiaweb, and I'm sure everyone has some service companies they like. As for the $6 per letter cost, I think it's worth it if they can't speak English (assuming you can't speak Russian!). You can get a bulk rate at $4 per letter. Isn't the cost at Fiance.com $8 per letter? I'm new to this site... Do you like this site better than Anastasiaweb?
To Martin and Cowboy, I can't help it. I actually like the bikini and lingerie pics. Pretty hopeless, right? My only reservation is that a few of the girls look so incredibly hot that I can't imagine they'd be loyal wives, unless you're a Brad Pitt equivalent.
Philly, it is free on fiance.com to have unlimited correspondence with any lady with private email for premium members. And VIP members can have unlimited free with girls from the agencies too. so it is free basically if you are paid member. One who writes to girls with agency emails should have VIP membership, or he is wasting his money. Also fiance.com doesn’t edit email, give your private email in your first message and do what ever you want with your communication. Ladies give you’re their emails most of the time too. it is normal/conventional dating site - get membership and use services covered.
You may not need a phone call to get a woman's address and phone number.
I sent my postal address and phone through Anastasia's e-mail system.
The woman I am corresponding with thanked me and sent me her postal address to me too.
My understanding is that you can't send e-mail addresses or website address through Anastasia's e-mail system.
You have traveled the same road I plan to travel.
I am also corresponding with some women through Anastasia. I plan to travel through Southern Ukraine later this year. Probably from Odessa to Kherson. It's my first trip.
I would be most grateful if you could share some of your experience which might make my trip a little easier. Such as how to get from city to city? Stay in apartment or hotel? Need a guide? An electronic translator? etc. Any information would be extremely helpful.
I am happy to talk here, but I don't know if everyone else would be interested.
I am new to this forum.
Could we talk offline?
Is it possible to exchange e-mail address or chat one-on-one at this website?
Thor,
Agreed, one can obtain home addresses via anastasiaweb's emails. Perhaps you're right re the phone #s.
Re Odessa. Apartments are much cheaper, but hotels can be useful if you don't speak Russian, in terms of taxis from the airport, finding taxis, getting directions. Generally the accommodations at the apartments are better than the hotels. Do not stay at the Palladium hotel, unless you like to go to sleep at 5 a.m., the disco in the hotel reverberates in every hotel room. Hotel Chernoye More is okay. Don't use the hotel internet services, as they're really pricey. You can easily find an internet cafe out in the streets for much less money. If your dates don't work out, you can contact anastasiaweb by internet and get local girls' phone numbers if they're interested in your profile. I assume this might also work with fiance.com. Thus far I've only traveled to Kiev, Odessa, Kharkov - all accessible by local airplane. Much, much cheaper to by the local air flights yourself at the airports or travel agencies. The internet travel agencies charge a huge premium, often a 50% commission. You can find websites that have the airline and train schedules with some Googling. Electronic translators can be helpful at a hotel or public place if you don't know any russian, but it's pretty awkward for a conversation. Plus, it's not a great idea to flash expensive toys around in public, though I've not been mugged yet. Sometimes the hotels can find you an interpreter, all of whom are quite eager to charge $10/hour to act as a guide. The travel agencies overcharge for guides; just use a translator, females are nicer I've found. $10 is considered a lot of money over there. the hotels can tell you what a fair cab fare to the airport is. Otherwise, expect the cabbies to charge 2-5 times the going rate. If you know the real rate, they'll back down once you start walking away. Get a Russian phrasebook and learn to ask "how much does it cost?", "too expensive", "okay or good", "good morning" etc. Gesturing, pointing, writing out numbers on paper, will get you far. My own strategy was to find a female interpreter/guide to show me around and sort of be a buddy, Lots of them interpret for dating services, and can give you inside information. Good luck!
Yes, many of the letters at some agencies are not from the girls. i use fiance.com almost exclusively. I have not noticed this at fiance.com. I am at one other agency and that was because I saw someone there that I very much wanted to correspond with and so joined to write to her.
I do get many letters at the other site that are not real. Often it is easy to tell this. I have still had nice correspondences with some of them and even met one who was very nice. If I suspect it is a fake, but I find them interesteing, I tell them that I recieved a letter from them and that I suspect that it may not have come from them, but that I looked at their profile and would be interested in corresponding with them. In a way it gives me a nice way to introduce myself.
