All of the previous parents were 8 or more years older than I am. My current girl's mother is 14 years younger than I am (her father is deceased) and even though my girl MET me at the encouragement of her mother and even dated me with her mother's full consent - I detect some dislike now. Though my girl denies it. So the only question is her motives, and its not love, I can almost guarantee it. But if its just sex you want for the next 5-7 years then its perfect, she becomes legal and moves on and you are out of luck because now you are in your 60's. I think the smarter move on both your parts would be to find someone closer to the age range,... 40's perhaps, then grow old together. I think why people are giving so much crap to the older guys looking for younger woman is that it is doomed to failure from the beginning. You guys are going to argue this because your feelers are in a bundle but thats the cold hard reality. How did it go?" Years ago, I was head-over-heels about a young Ukrainian woman. At the time this developed, our ages were about 50 and 30. (BTW, my meeting her had nothing to do with websites or any other aspect of the "dating industry" -- we had known each other as friends for some time.) She never returned my affections, so I can't answer your question quite directly -- but her mom seemed to adore me, and though romance never developed, I always thought that her mother (not far in age from myself) was far too wise not to see how I felt about her daughter. My intuition is, that she probably would have been OK about my making a family with her daughter and grandson. She could see that I was caring, and after all she naturally wants her descendants to have someone to look after them. The young lady's father, on the other hand, tends to be dour and takes a certain pleasure in grumbling about things. I quite like him actually, his temperament reminds me of my dad :) His reaction would have been interesting to discover. If she had wanted me, I suppose he would have come to terms with it; as the father of two strong-willed daughters, he is probably resigned to deal with whatever they send his way. jetmba. We know that we have almost zero chance of marrying and making it work. Each of us has lamented "If ONLY (in my case) you were ten years older or I was younger... the odds would still be against us...but we would have a chance." Nearly an hour went by of this basic interrogation leaving my girl's mother terrified of the USA and near a heart attack. It appears it is quite common for government workers to make the US look like a place too dangerous to immigrate to. The lady went on to say that I must prove residency for 6 months from today before she would grant a license for marriage. Even $500 bucks wouldnt change her mind. Ok, I have an apartment so I will make sure I get lots of mail for next 6 months and use my debit card alot (or have her use it)to prove residency. She is, of course assuming we will live together for 6 months. Has anyone else had this happen? should have done fiance visa,lol. I didn't have any idea of what to expect -- I'm surprised how much of a wringer they're putting you through, especially the propaganda at the registrar's office. If you don't mind telling us, in which city or town did you have this experience? I wish you both good luck, and will appreciate if you continue to write for us how it is going. There may be other men who will consider getting married there -- it certainly crossed my mind.
