We were actually married for about 2,5 years, but together for only 15 months. During that time her mother past away, and she went back home for the funeral. At the end of the 15 months, her aunt calls, and said that father was sent home from the hospital after having some kind of treatments. Her aunt didn’t seem to know what his illness was,,, but it sounded like cancer,,, and I had her on a plane two days later. Her father past/passed away 4 days after she arrived home. It should have been a days journey by train to her home town.
She stayed there to arrange the funeral, which takes place 40 days later, then to settle the estate, and sell off their belongings. The middle of Oct turned into mid April, and then I flat out asked her: Are you ever coming home?? After a pause she said: No. She went on to say, that she had left her family down and felt responsible for their deaths.
She was days away from missing an appointment to be finger printed at the INS in Milwaukee, and her re-entry permit was about to expire. About ten days before that,, I learned that I could have extended or rescheduled the finger printing appointment,,,, and chose not to. I’m not sure what could have been done with the re-entry permit.
During those 15 months, we went to Florida for a winter vacation, on a camping trip through Minnesota up to the Canadian border,,, but never really camped because she was terrified of sleeping in a tent out in the wild,,,, next to hundreds of other campers?? She also made another trip home before either had died.
If there were any problems of a cultural nature,,,, she did a perfect of hiding it. We didn’t have any big arguments about how things should be done. If I noticed that she was confused about something,, I just whispered in her ear.
Perhaps one story I can tell, is about Irina shopping alone down town,,, gossip was going around that she was paying for groceries with change,,, (coins),,, counting handfuls of change and holding up the check out line? I didn’t know she was shopping downtown, because we went to a larger town every 5 to 7 days and brought home a cart full of groceries each time,,, and,,, we had a rather large garden. She seemed to like that almost daily trip to the market??
It sounds like you had some doubts about her sincerity, I had the same actually but as time has gone on they have got to be a lot less. My Irina openly confessed to me that she used to scam men as a second source of income so of course its made me extra alert for anything that might indicate that she is not sincere.
So far as time has gone on I have less and less worries about if she is honestly looking for something real. I know enough about her that there is no way she would introduce me to her son in December and I have recently talked to him some on Skype which I was very surprised about. If I don't like something I talk to her about it and we have always resolved any issues we have had. She tells me if she doesn't like something point blank, which is great because I hate trying to be a mind reader.
She has introduced me to so many of her friends and in some cases even parents of her friends. There is no way she would do this if it wasn't real. As far as being compatible, it seems we are a perfect fit. In any case its way better than anyone I've dated in Toronto. People in her hometown (Kherson) are very friendly, or at least they have been to me.
I will admit a few times early on I thought to myself what the hell am I doing, this is just some BS scam, but its actually turned out not to be at all. If I had not taken the chance on her early on I would not be spending Christmas with her. You can't go through life thinking everyone is out to take you. Mind you, if she was 25 and not 30 who knows, she probably would of scammed me too!
I finally ordered those two movies about a week ago,,,, and they arrived today! I watched the movie “Spy’s Like Us” tonight,,,, and when that moment came,,, when they launched the (eye cee bee em) ,,,,,,,it wasn’t there?? I played it several times and didn’t recognize any of the Russian.
I went back and tried to turn on sub titles and captions,,, it didn’t work on the DVD remote,,, but it did on the TV remote,,,, and all it said when the Russians spoke Russian,,, is (Speaking Russian). There weren’t any words that sounded like “boos nah”.
Irina and I bought and rented a lot of movies,,,, maybe I still have the one with them saying: Why why??
Dh7,,,, I told the story just like it happened,,,, but I have my own theories as to what went wrong.
It would be another long story and I’m not sure if I want to share it.
