A lower price for home or local territory. During my time there,,, I discovered that the girls and interps had several phones on themselves,,,, from different companies. Prices would be cheaper on certain phones to some areas,,,, cheap enough to recover the cost of the extra phone. Some companies are popular in certain cities. Kyivstar is great for me. It's almost like it's free. 12.90 UAH a month for unlimited internet and if you go with their new plan "Freedom smartphone" it's 20 UAH per month for unlimited internet plus unlimited calling to those on the Kyivstar network. Rick mentioned that it had no foreign ability but it probably does. It's called roaming. When I go to another country I just get a sim card of that country to benefit from their local rates. For limited use it was good enough. It was only cheap cell phone, and I was not able to call home with it,,,, and I tried several times. Back then, I used Yahoo Voice for calling home. That was 0.02 usd,,, but was 18 to 22 cents to call Ukraine from home. Yahoo Voice is gone now and I miss it. When in Amsterdam,,, I only had limited service on my Life phone,,,, I think I could only text with it. Alternatively you can use Google voice which allows free USA calls as long as you're in the USA. If you're outside the rate is 1 cent per minute.
