I LEARNED, or should I say LEARNT? English in the UK many years ago, but I refined my English skills in the US. Thus, I can tell you that other than the few changes and in a number of words and the seldom preference of Britons and Americans in their usage of words, there is not much difference between American and British English when it comes to writing the language. So, just drop it and get along. The US is not the best country in the world, and Britain is not the mainland of Europe...Live with it.
