I'm not a full Electrical Engineer (my degree is in Computer Engineering). Anyone who works in power distribution might sneer at my required course work, but I DO know about Power Factor deviations and corrections required with industrial equipment. As for comic books, I finally abandoned reading them about 10 years ago when I got fed up with the crappy story lines from Marvel. When Ostrander wound up his work on "The Spectre", that basically ended my involvement with DC as well. I had ended my Green Lantern collecting shortly before when they turned Hal Jordan into a villian.
I saw that one on a new spiderman cartoon scott. As for comic books, never read them but we had a lot of kids TV when I was young. Its all shit now but Im not a kid so who cares
I do. The Spiderman series from a few years ago was actually very well done. Character development in a cartoon, who would have figured. Okay, still very tongue in cheek most of the time, but still in spirit with the comic.
I always laughed about the comics side of it. Those comics could be VERY violent, yet in the cartoon show EVERYTIME a plane or helicopter was shot down, you saw a parachute. Riiiiggghhhhttt!
Even In the movie scott, as violent as it gets sometimes there is not much blood. He sure does take a pounding but it's a family show remember. The cartoon are for children so the good guys win and the bad guys live to fight another day. The perfect evil world.
I do not mean who cares about spiderman, I mean kids TV is shit. Pokymon and that thing where people have spinning top fights with spirits inside. Clutching at straws if you ask me. And that spiderman cartoon, I had it on DVD but my 3 year old niece broke it.
ID, my point is that kids are not stupid. At that age, they already know about that kind of violence. The more to point issue is that parents want to make sure there television is "safe" for kids, when they can't bother to read the books, magazines, or comics they are already reading. As I've already stated, most comics I read could be quite graphic. The parents that want a safe environment for their kids are living in fools paradise if they think entrusting government regulations, etc. to protect them.
Once again, I think we can get back to topic stating that many of us are here looking for someone that values having a close relationship with your children as a family, and not just the authoritarian parent role.
Kids are adults in training. Don't mistake naive for stupid. They need your guidance, trust, and commitment more than a heavy authoritarian who only spends 2 hours out of a day with them.
Scott, I agree with you 100%. I just stated that I did not care about the quality of todays cartoons because I do not watch them. It was a general comment and no children we taken into consideration when I said it. It was purely from a watchers point of view. I myself have fathered someone elses child for 2 years and am awear of all that you said.
ID>>> you lucky sob. I wish I was going over again, even though I found my love. Just to see her again. Where do you travel to? I miss russia a bunch, even with its problems........
