So to help you from becoming discouraged I will say nothing of my adventure except do not go there. While becoming more discourage today I was wondering this, if as the man Buckeye states from valid research that only 4-5%of the men that write and build relationships with the women overseas actually make the trip then the marragie and succes rate must be dismal. Success rates of Western men and FSU women are considerably higher than USA men and USA women. WHere as the divorce rate in america sits at about 50% or so, research has shown that divorce rate of FSU women and US men is about 15 %! THere is strength in THESE numbers!! Reading through two sites written by Scandinavian men, who are very nice about their exes, i got nevertheless the idea that the women left their husband because of unrealistic ideas about how her new life would be and that it is at least for a large part about money, be it the idea that it sweetens everything or a misunderstanding what a forklift driver or a truck driver earns and what one can do with that money. Reading the Russian side of this forum i get again the idea that men are the only romantics and that women to much think about their position in society, not about happiness in the long run. I have also read a Dutch site written by Russian women who gave me an other insight, (that marriage can be as i want it to be, namely a partnership between equals) A little remark though the women are VERY negative about Russian men, my believe is once they cross the border they will be very negative about their new men. I might be willing to believe that the that write on this forum are (too) young girls who think that being pretty is all there is. There is some growing up to do, but it could be on your cost. She seems much more concerned about moving here re: leaving home, friends, family, EVERYTHING she has ever known. Sure, most FSU women see movies and think everyone is wealthy, nice cars, homes, etc. That is the reason men need to take pictures with them (like I did) on their trips and show the lady pics of house, car, neighborhood, family, etc. so they have a more realistic picture of 'normal' life in USA.
