Thanks everyone, more a feeling of relief than happiness....I don't intend to be a stranger, I received alot of advice and encouragement in this forum and I shall be around to offer anyone else the same.
This has been a lot of hard work and a lot of expense, but nothing worth having comes easily and the harder it is to obtain something, then I think the more you will value it....we avoided quizzing each other and trying to learn each others favourite toothpaste, I told her to just go in, tell the truth and be herself, I can't speak for other Embassies, but I know in the british Embassy, you stand or fall only by the evidence that you produce. She was little bit dubious of this, living in a country where you bribe to get what you want
somewhere in the future you maybe want to shed some light on specifically the pound-side of your experience. Not now, later - just to give some here an idea of what they should 'bargain' for.
Just be honest, and I'm sure you'll shy away some guys here. But that also is honest, or better called 'fair', I think.
I went through that immigration crap over here in the States crossing from England. We did quiz one another on the toothpaste etc, because over here they will ask you that stuff in a heartbeat. They will even ask you how many times you have sex each week they are shameless. They will try to trick you too. For example they asked me when the last time I voted was. I said you mean the States. He said yes without looking up from the desk. I said never, because you aren't allowed to vote unless you are a citizen. He said correct answer, if you had said yes I would have deported you this afternoon !! They don't f. . . around in the States.
I had hear all of that. All they asked was how long we had know each other, how often we had met, did we intend to marry. asked why she was marrying me, did she intend to work when she came to England. Nothing too personal. I had to laugh when they asked her daughter if she knew where she would be living in England. She replied, 50kms from JK ROWLING. The innocence of a 10 year old.lol.
I have to say it was a particularly fair process, no trick questions and no intimate prying.. and the whole interview completed in good humour
