Neonred: If you ARE serious I might be very willing to take you up on that offer. I can't say for certain right now because there it is a bit in the future and there are so many things that could happen in before then. But I would be glad to keep in touch and if things work out, we could make more concrete plans as the time approaches.
Izi: I would be very glad to meet you as well.
This forum is an incredibly useful resource for finding information and making friendahips with people who share a common interest.
Some of you who have been here foe a while might recall a guy who wrote quite a bit here for quite a while, TimH. Haven't seen any writing from him lately here - but he and I met up when I had a 36 hour stopover in London on one on my trips to Eastern Europe. He and I spent a day seeing London. Had never met the guy before but just based on our writings here in this forum we talked as old friends. (Only wish I had thought of meeting trad and glad at the same time).
There is another guy in Florida - one I met in October of 2003 when I first went to Ukraine on my Romance Tour. He dated my fiance's best friend. I hope to meet him as well.
Will keep you all updated of course - on what is going on as my fiance and I plan to get together in the US.
I DID run Neon's offer past my lovely fiance and she, unfortuantely, nixed the idea.
Seems that she would feel better if I had already met Neon in person. I guess I cannot blame her for being a little concerned.
We STILL intend to travel to Florida - at the end of July. I have extended an offer to meet Neon when we are there at that time and I would like to extend an offer to izi as well.
It would be great to put faces on some of these forum member I have known.
And it will be expecially interesting trying to figure out a way to meet these guys, and explain WHY we are meeting without out being very specific ABOUT the forum or where on the web it is. (AS I have already mentioned I will no longer be an active participant at that time.)
I hope that Neon and Izi will cooperate with me in helping me to pull this off.... :)

My fiancee met a woman while waiting to get her physical for the interview. They are from the same town. After the other lady's interview, they met to discuss the interview. They asked her only 4 questions: How did you get acquainted?" , the name of groom's work place, "What does he teach?", " What languages does he know?"
I have sent my fiancee the answers to these questions: "We met through an agency." "CimQuest", "How not to do things right the first time.", and "The languages of love and French."
You don't think they'd penalize her for humor do you? That's Humour to those of you from Europe.
Pretty much guaranteed - Ditto - that they won't ask the same questions. Frankly, I don't know exactly what she was asked. My fiance told me that there wee five windows on a wall in a row. She was sent to number four, but all were close enough that each interviewee could hear the responses of the others. She said that she got a little emotional and that other people paused and looked at her. She was embarrassed. But the interviewer reassured her and told her that she had done great.
wt everything was great and i plan on going back if she doesnt get here 1st ill write more when i get the chance very busy at work now and trying to find a good lawyer that can do a k-1 visa anyone have any suggestions ??? thx hammer
1500, plus 300 per child. No additional lawyer fees. You must still pay 165 application fee, 100 for medical exam and 100 for embassy interview, plus document translation.
There isn't that much paperwork - 10 pages filled out maybe at the most and most of that (her mother's name and birthplace, her fathers name and birthplace, what shcool she attended, her address and telephone number) is repeated from form to form.
Now if that fee could cut down on the ridiculous WAIT - at the Nebraska Service Cemter or the National Visa Center - then I would say "go for it", but it can't and it won't.
Jet- I actually think it goes much faster without a lawyer. It doesn't sit on anyone's desk. I was notified last week by the US Embassy in Romania that they had a new requirement for women with children so we had to send them more documents on Jenia's child. If not for that, the interview would have happened this past week. Jenia has already reserved plane tickets for June 26 to come here. Right now the elapsed time has been 2 1/2 months from when I first sent my petition to the Nebraska office. I can't believe that this is happening so quickly and now I am like a fart in a whirlwind trying to remodel and get the house ready for their arrival in two weeks.
Dale - I can't beleive its happening so fat for you either (of course I'm glad it is - don't get me wrong). 2 1/2 months after I filed MY petition in Nebraska - I HAD already recieved approval from Nebraska and I was waiting for acknowledgement from the NVC in New Hamphire that they had even RECEIVED my petition, let alone accepted it. At 2 1/2 months it would still be anout 2 weeks before I would hear that the NVC had received my petition.
It will take you a little longer for the interview process with a child - but I am sure you will still be done considerably sooner than I was.
Your Jenia must be pretty well off by Moldovan standards that she can afford to reserve the tickets (assuming she is paying) - the vast majority of Moldovans could not even consider that.
I do agree with your comment that working without a lawyer might be considerably faster.
Been a long while since I posted here. Spent 2 amazing weeks with Moldavian Lucy in Chisinau in November. We speak by phone pretty much daily, and the e-mails have tapered off. Am heading back June 20th for 16 days. The plan is to get married in October. Am really psyched. She is an amazing woman in every way.
Will be checking in with the embassy there to be clear on all that needs to be done.
Good luck to Dale and Jet (you guys may remember me).
Hi Ensata! How do you ever expect us to forget the rantings and ravings about your Dear, Lucy! With you being a well respected Deacon of the church, I can remember how you asked everyone their thoughts on having sex on the first meeting. So, did you fight your inner demons or bring the box of rubbers with you????
