Most women in Ukraine prefer to marry a man a little older than they, just like in America. And it is not customary to have a big age difference. This being said, only a very small percentage of American women are willing to consider a man more than 5 years their senior, whereas 10 years is not so unusual in Ukraine, so there is a real difference in attitudes "over there." As for me, I'm a poor dumb bastard just past 50, who hopes to find a woman who will still be young enough for a safe/healthy pregnancy after the couple of years it takes to go through the international dating & marriage process... For my dream to work, it will be necessary to bridge a gap of 15 years or so. But I wouldn't be making the attempt, if I didn't think it possible. Anyway, I understand that I won't build the family I dream of, by chasing girls in their 20s. When a woman of (for example) 25 says she is interested in men more than twice her age, I understand this to mean that her intentions are not serious. People are all different. There IS certainly some resentment among Ukrainian men about older men (perceived as well-to-do) being with young ladies. (ON two seperate trips I had trouble with local men for that very reason). I've been moaned at that "Rich foreign guys come and take our women and leave none of the good ones for us!" And now with the comments of "real girl" above it is clear that that resentment transfers to Ukrainian women as well. You'll find similar sentiment expressed by western ladies who resent "Pretty young foreign women take all the best men!" And jealousy among your peers (asuming you are an older western man) when he sees you with a pretty young thing attached to your elbow (and they recall what they are stuck with at home). The fact remains though that there are no hard and fast rules. What works, works. What the ladies like, they like. Its all about personality and perception and how they feel about you YOU as an individual. I'm a 51 year old man - my ladies (yes, still sigh, plural) are 29 but look younger. To attract younger women... I think it is important for an older man to have a young "attitude" and he must take care of his appearance. Fat, bald, wrinkled and angry will get you nowhere...
