When I was searching for a job here, the most common job offers were from the dating agencies. There are less and less factories. Conditions for business become worse every day. Dating agencies became one of the easiest ways to earn money. Many girls perceive it just as a source of money. It's sad... In the beginning the problem was only economic situation. Guys look at this as women scamming them, which definitely is a problem, but look at it for a moment from their point of view. They know that probably 98% of the men they talk to on a dating site will never actually get on a plane a come see them, its expensive, if you are worried about be taken for $50 on an overpriced taxi fare stay home. This is not a cheap way to meet someone, in the case of my girl, she talked to loads of men before she met me and was on over a dozen dating sites. She admitted to me that for her it was a second income, but she knew that these men would never actually meet her so if someone offered to send her money or a gift, why would she say no? If some guy is sitting in his basement getting off looking at hot photos or video chatting with some girl, why shouldn't she make a few bucks off it? The guy logs off and then goes and kisses his wife, so really, who is the scammer here? The girl I am with admitted to me freely that yes she scammed men, but she was in her mid 20s at the time and these guys were 55-60, fat as a whale and never had any serious intention of meeting her. I will admit that at first I was very suspicious of her because of her admitted past, but I have met her friends, her mother, even met her boss at the shop she works at. Meeting her son when I go back over Christmas and we are going away together in March. She actually got very annoyed with a friend of hers for wanting some money to help with translation. She has gone from scamming other men to warning me that in Ukraine everyone has their hand out. She is 30 now, and tells me she wants nothing to do with dating sites anymore, she finds it repulsive and some of the stories she told me about how men behave on these sites to women they talk to, they deserve whatever comes their way.
