I truly bought the whole pakage of the -uncompetent, unloving russian man- as a reason to rationally justify why such good looking ladies, from a great culture and beautiful country would think about foreign me in the first place.. I really wanted to believe that was the case, and not make it a question of money and a desire to go west and enjoy the prosperous way of life that it claims to have... this is what hurts the most, I wanted the believe this myth so bad, even while the rational part of me said it just could not be posible... and then suddenly, you come out and say the words that come straight from the horse's mouth-- wow!! I was shocked... I do believe that there are true girls out there never the less, but heck, the same is true everywhere.. many of my pals say whay the hell am I looking for women in Ucrania when here (Venezuela) we have the most beautiful in the world?- certainly it was not for the looks alone!! It is all very interesting, the speculations about what drives the MOB business. The more colorful the image the more likely it is take root in the mind and become exaggerated. Think of some of the images that foreigners have of Americans: that we are all gangsters, that it is non-stop drive-by shootings here, everyone is 200 lbs overweight -- good for a laugh from our perspective. On the other hand most Americans are overweight and lots are obese and so these extreme images often serve as tip of the iceberg indications or less colorful but certainly very real problems. I suspect the same thing is true of the Ukraine. I have heard stories, from Russians, about country bumpkins getting drunk on perfume or antifreeze and these days the film industry seems to be making a good buck off the Russian mafia cliche (Eastern Promises is the latest in that line). On the other hand I have heard the tales of corruption, infidelity, alcohol, etc., from many Russians in the US and lots of the girls on the MOB sites and seen the evidence on my trips as well. There are cultural weaknesses everywhere you go and they shift from one place to the next. The only places where you find an MOB industry is where the economy is bad. From that perspective you can argue that the MOB industry is driven by a poor economy. But there have been poor people with stable social patterns all throughout history, and in the US we have plenty of opportunity to observe dysfunctional patterns in wealth. In saying that there is a problem with the men in the Ukraine does not imply that there are problems with the majority. If 10-15% have significant issues it creates enough of a relationship vacuum to propel a significant number of women out of their respective countries and to drive the MOB industry. One must remember that these girls will leave family,friends, and a familiar place. Only a small number will do that so that they can shop at Barney's or because no one wants them, most of the rest are going because they can not find someone suitable. jetmba. A contuation - I should emphasize that the young woman I refer to was all of 18 years old. The youngest guy in our group was 20 (a tall goodlooking motocross racer from Michigan) but the MAJORITY of us were in at least our 30's and 40's. That might explain her some of her amusement, especially since an older gentleman (around 50) was the one who inititally posed the question to her. Have you noticed that girls in their profiles, around the age of 18 or 19 sometimes ask for guys no older than, say 23 or 25? By the time a young woman has hit 25 to 30, she seems to have a much broader age range that she would consider. I didn't mean for my comment to be quite as discouraging, or producing comments as much in the vein of "Ah HAH!" as it was. This was just the opinion of ONE 18 year old Ukrainia girl. I had a nightmare experience in Nikolaev, and it was not only the girl I was supposed to visit, but everything is made to milk tourists : taxi drivers, drinks in disco, extra desert to take home in restaurant, very high priced appartments (they even adjust the price of the apartment to the USD ... as if it were an imported goods), fake flowers etc ... Not to mention the unfriendly looks and people not trying to help at all, like in a supermarket... It was always the same pattern with all the girls I have met, so it was not a one off ... except one but she was really not attracting ... An american who works there has told me the whole truth, and it's ugly. Honestly, I went there only to see her, I REALLY like her, I was very happy to do all the traveling, even if I felt like arriving in a ghost city, and I was ready to do anything to make it work, but she did show up after A WEEK I was there, only to ask for money, go to the restaurant and disco, and be cold... So, please keep the 'try to understand women and give her all she wants' for yourself, because I was ready to do that, but I am not stupid and I can see when a woman is cold and distant. In the taxi, she was sitting the furthest away from me, she was keeping her distance at all time and, ah, of course, 'she was busy, her mom was sick, she had to study ...' so I spent with her only 4-5 hours (2 evenings), but, of course, never alone with her... That is probably what you mean by 'you will get anything you want back' ... So I guess, yes, it's like everywhere, beautiful women have no problem finding a nice local boyfriend, but in Ukraine they also work for dating agencies (there are ads in local newspapers) to scam foreigners ... Yes, there are dishonorable girls everywhere, but they are not part of a very well oiled scamming system like in Ukraine. Corruption and lies is part of the culture. I have my responsibility, of course, but I just wonder if the fact that they charge so much for opening letters does not mean that there are more 'working girls' on that website than on others ... hence the fact that I stumbled upon multiple scammers ... If once you had a bad experience it does not mean that all Ukrainian girls are scammers or just bad… Why then many foreign men still coming there? And not once but for several times! What is the truth is that they know no limits while having fun, they don’t constrain themselves in love, being very hot and passionate. They are very feminine, very beautiful, but at the same time very vulnerable. They are great house wives; they cook tasty, very hospitable and thrifty. I know several intepreters there. Yes there is a lot of scamming there. And also, the laides there have now become spoilt because of rich American guys turning up and giving them expensive gifts and good times. It's not the place to go to look for nice lady. Go to small cities- and to those that are not so popular for foreign guys (too many in Nikolaev). Go to Dnepro, even though it's bigger, go to Donetsk, Melitopol, Zaporogie, Mauripol, Kharkov, Poltava, Sumy. Odessa is bad now too. Kherson is bad. There is no chance in Kiev- it's a waste of time. Why didn't she tell you about those bears walking down the streets covered with deep snow almost all the year. If someone believes that it is true I can recommend just to visit a primary school in Ukraine, none of our children would believe such nonsense about any country in the world, so I am sorry about your system of education.
