It could not have been better, she met met me at the airport, and we shared an apartment together in Kiev, it was wonderful. After a week in Kiev we travelled to Oddessa to stay with her faimly, that was also great, they treated me so well. She will be leaving everything she has ever known to move to your world. Her friends will be telling her of Westerners that visited once, had a great time and never came back and about the bad experiences they have heard about. She will need a lot of reassurance and you need to schedule another visit in not more than 3 or 4 months if your paper work is not done. It would not be uncommon for her to need another visit before she is ready to fill the paperwork out. Her mind is full for sure with uncertainty so do not take her for granted. Oz is certainly right about being there for her. The homesick feeling can last for a few years upon arrival, I know about that- buy the family a camcorder to send video back over the internet. One good thing is that the flight back to Ukraine from UK is short, unlike here in the U.S... then again once she has her fiance visa and you get married in the UK, I believe she will need to remain in UK until her residency papers/visa are approved before traveling out of the UK again.... at least that is the way it works in the U.S. Rag'n'Bull Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 12/17/2007 8:19:02 PM   I have been criticised for pouring scorn on something previously so here I go again, one week together and already engaged to be married, come on, get real, is that how it would be if you met a lady in your local neighbourhood? And yes I have, been there and done that, arranged for a lady to come to UK and live with me etc. after one week together and boy was it a frigging nightmare, I didn't even want to go home from work of an evening for fear of the hostilities that would ensue. No I am not making this all up, I am so very in Love... We did not use any agency, she speaks very good English.
