Of COURSE I would never compare, or expect to find the same situation, in Ukraine and Latvia today. Latvia is a member of the European Union, Nato and has a much stronger economy. All I knew back then was that both countries were part of the former Soviet Union and both seemed to have a lot of Russian women looking for western guys. Contrary to what you write, a lot of Latvians WERE very willing to leave their country. The lady I found (and spent the week with) was working in a secretarial position in a bank and making all of $10 per day (higher than even current wages in Ukraine for comparable work but still no much). SOME of Latvia is doing very well - other parts retain a thrid-world aspect. Latvia is simply 5 to 10 years ahead of Ukraine. Its my bet that in that amount of time Ukraine will be much more developed. Its true that the EU has become crowded and more "exclusive" now and may never let Ukraine in. That remains to be seen. Same BS hand wringing in the EU that went on that Let the Baltics become occupied, first by Germany than in a Secret deal with Russia to parce the lands up. Now the EU hasn't the stones to tell Putin to go to hell. When know the strength of the Europe, you saw it in the Munich Accord, also architected by Joe Kennendy, Chamberlin and Daladier. Makes me wonder how much the Czechs love the English and France for selling them out. I think some here need to go back and reread "The Gathering Storm". However, saying that, although I love Riga, visits there have not always gone as planned either.Many beautiful ladies for sure, but mostly inaccessible. Most people only see the modern and affluent side(relatively) of Latvia when in Riga, (or the seedy strip clubs) but there is most certainly another side to it as well once away from the bigger cities. Well this, what I believed to be a, pimp simply would not leave me alone, he was 'in my face' so I moved around the bar, he followed me, I moved again, he followed me and so it went on. I had no idea what he was saying to me because he was either very drunk or on drugs, he barely spoke English, but I think I heard the words 'two ladies' thus my belief that he was a pimp. Eventually I got angry with him and shouted at him two famous words connected with 'sex' and 'go away' and he still wouldn't leave me alone so I beckoned to the bar staff to get this guy the f*ck out of my fase. The chief bouncer arrived on the scene, with no disrespect he looked your typical Russian 'brick shitehouse' with shaven head, certainly not the sort of guy you'd want to meet in a dark alley. He asked me for my version of events, it transpired that he had observed this guy following me around the club, and with that he told the guy to leave me alone. About 30 minutes or so later the pimp was back in my face and he would not go away, despite my strong language, so I asked the bar staff where the 'big guy' had gone, he was now frisking people coming through the front door. I just went out there, with pimp following, and said to big bouncer, with a smile, 'I've come to stand next to you'. I then taunted the pimp, who stood there open mouthed in mid floor to 'come on then' and with that 'my mate' went after him. I meeting up with a couple guys there. If you want too meet up too, let me know. It's always nice to not be alone there, also I think it's impresses girls if you know someone there. They always ask who it is. As far as Liza, she is a nice girl, you will have fun. She likes expensive restaurants, loves posing for pics and tends to be drawn to clothing shops!!! Other than that, she may be bored. One thing I remember, as you walk down street with her, everyone turns to have a look and she loves every minute of it. She dresses very provacative, great body!!!! Not the cutest girl though. She usually runs with a friend named Irina and is not alone with you. Her english is very good. She will ask to meet you in odessa not her hometown. She asks for money to pay for taxi and she charges more than what it really is. I call her a shopper with a little goldigger mixed in, definately not a scammer. She is upfront!! Have a good time.
