But they did have 2000 troops in Iraq, so it could be said the $$ support was for that ???? What I find more concerning is the amount of weaponry that Ukraine has provide/sold to Georgia in recent times. I am a little surprised you have based your decision on who is right and wrong by the size of the country and its weaponry ??? Then there is Israel - well that’s another angle - Georgian Minister of Defence is of Israeli citizenship. Thus-far – and I hope more accurate and truthful detail will surface soon – but instead of reporting the cold hard facts to the world, the Jewish-influenced media has been dishonestly reporting that the Zionist-allied Georgian State is a victim of Russian aggression and a Russian invasion. Georgia attacked, and massacred the people of Ossetia in the start of this conflict. On news networks after the Georgian launched invasion, all people were permitted to see was the Georgia President and Jewish State Department officials crying about how Georgia was invaded by Russia! I don’t want to go down the Jewish involvement possibilities/scaremonger that’s another nightmare in the making ???? I mean really, why did Putin threaten the nations of G8 about shutting off oil flow to the west if it wasn't such a strategic weapon and resource. Although my opinion to whom is wrong – and please understand – I am only talking of the attack in Ossetia a week ago, is Georgia and not the Georgian people, but its leaders. If you go back to the beginning of this Post – I say that Russia will make the most of this situation and I hoped they would not overstep their “peace reinstatement” force. It is still unclear if they have done this. Did they provoke – entice – maybe ??? Mike – I just wish we could get back to the topic in hand. Women/children old people killed and lives and homes destroyed in a beautiful part of the world. Ossetia/Georgia and Abkhazia – it’s a most scenic region and according to Lena some of the friendliest people she has ever met, well back in the 80’s they were. Have you not seen the interviews with Ossetia refugees, telling the horror of Georgian forces on them, shooting escaping cars loaded with children an women. Running over old women with tanks decimating the cemeteries and church’s etc I am sure Russian Media will have its slant, but again I will say – its hard to not ignore film footage of grief stricken civilians and blood & guts and now funeral processions etc. It is also not my intent to infer America/Israel is at blame, I don’t want to go deep into the might’s and maybes, just want a more balanced portrayal of events of this last 7 days. We point out atrocities in the media, who have their own agenda. I wouldn't trust a damn thing CNN ever had to report. I really don't trust any media outlets in America and that Includes Fox. Also he who fires the first shot or makes a move to protect themselves are not necessarily the aggressors in a war or started the war. Because Georgia went in to South Ossetia does not mean they started the war. You can slant refugees and genocide to promote ones agenda. Show pictures of burned out houses. Peter you got interested in watching CNN's reporting on this. They showed burning and destroyed homes in this segment. I DVR'd it to watch it again. It was the same block shown from 7 different vantage points to make it look like sweeping carnage. Media is a hell of a weapon depending on whose ox you want to gore. Does that mean it didn't happen. No it means the reporting is one sided. My question still stands. If Russia's intent was to protect the people of South Ossetia why are they still in Georgia? Drive the Georgians back a few miles into Georgia and then set a line of demarcation. Also Peter/Olegnay you don't move that kind of equipment into that region and react as swiftly as the Russians did, if they didn't already have the military hardware there. Russia found a huge armoury abandoned and left unattended in Gori etc. They gave another town in Georgia a bit of a dust up too, it was supposedly used as a munitions base or something. What NBC did as affix model rocket engines around the gas tanks and bed of the truck. Upon impact it was a fireball. One thing NBC didn't count on was an Arson Investigator or someone that had something to do with the trajectories of explosions was watching this particular episode. He reveiwed the tapes many times and was detecting detonations around the gas tank which was no possible unless some explosive was there.
