I have been reading this forum with bemusement and did not see the need to post about my trip to the Ukraine mostly due to the total negativity and the way a few people on here carry on about their negative experiences not to mention the on going shit fight between 2 or 3 wankers on here that ruin this forum for everybody else... Amusing for a little while but in the end quite boring really... One can only live in hope that they will grow up or just go away...! However I can also see that there are some genuine guys that come by with a dream to find their love in the FSU and are looking for some advice about how to go about it... So for the benefit of those and others I will tell you what has happened to me and how I went about things ... I met a girl online in February... Exactly how and what happened in the beginning is on this post and on another couple of posts on here... I did NOT use an "Agency"... I would NEVER use an "Agency"... I would NEVER pay per letter or per contact... I would only ever use dating sites where you pay a subscription per month and have access to ALL girls and unlimited contact...! This OF COURSE opens you up to ALL the scamers ... BUT... if you cannot, after a few days, be able to easily identify who is trying to scam you and how, then you are probably too dumb to do this and you should stay home and try and find and marry a local girl... IF YOU GET SCAMMED IT IS YOUR FAULT ... Not the fault of the scammer... For them it is their JOB... that's what they do for a living... And you should stop confusing the scamers with the local girls... Sure there are a few of those but scamers are by far mostly professionals that prey on YOUR stupidity... Understand this and you will never get scamed.. IF YOU NEVER EVER SEND MONEY TO ANYBODY YOU HAVE NOT MET THEN YOU CAN NEVER GET SCAMMED...!!! My girl is the most hot beautiful sincere sexy smart funny girl in the world... I met her on Russian Cupid... I had VERY Specific parameters of who I was looking for... Age group not more than 12 years difference (I'm 45 she is 34) English WAS a 100% MUST (how can you meet and court and marry a woman that you cannot communicate with?) Height, Build, Pretty, Sexy (I want to be with her for the rest of my life) I preferred that she had a child (showed to me stability and a level of maturity) Smart, Funny So she sends me an initial Hi...! I respond...! WE chat on the site for about 20 minutes... And then we move to skype...! The rest is history as they say...! I did not spend 1 cent on her and she never asked for 1 cent... We talked from day 1 on Skype. WE have todate probably sent about 3000 sms back and forth...there has not been 1 day where there was no contact and many times a day... multiple sms/email/skype is a daily thing for us... I do not understand how on earth people say that they have a "fiance" or are in love with someone and they talk 1 or 2 times a week...!?!? So... I went to the Ukraine on the 6th of July... We spent the most amazing 12 days together... Then I went to Greece for 12 days... Then I went back to the Ukraine for another 2 weeks... Those were quite likely the best 2 weeks of my life... I am going back to the Ukraine in October for 4 weeks... She is coming to Australia in December on a tourist visa for 3 months... Then we start the fiance visa process... We are in love and very happy... I found my other half and she has too...!!! So... NOW I can talk with a little more authority on the subject...! NOW I can talk from experience... Of course I am not married with kids yet but that will happen... Just like I said everything else would happen... And it did...! Is it possible to meet the woman of your dreams first time... YES... Do you need to be a little lucky to do so... NO ... I don't think so... You just need to be a little smart about how you go about it... AND you also need to be a little desirable to them... Like I said a few times in this forum.. If you are old, short, fat, poor, ugly and a looser AND you want to find a hot sexy 20 something FSU girl then you are living in fantasy land... You WILL be scammed as is quite evident by the resident "scammed losers" on this forum...!!! You know who you are... People need to understand... the whole FSU scamming industry is based on these old losers that think they can go there and find a sexy young thing to marry them... they are delusional and that is what the whole industry feeds on... THEIR delusion...! But if you somewhat normal, somewhat handsome, somewhat smart and funny, somewhat within an age that means that you are not thinking about funeral plans... THEN you will succeed...!!! If you would like more advice, more details, more about what to do to succeed then by all means feel free to ask... You must have good instincts? Out of the myriad of sites available what made you target Russian Cupid.? Looking back, were you lucky or just clinical about things? How did you win her child over?? However, Im not dating seriously as I do have a semi-permant girl in Ukraine which Im going to probably do a Visa for soon. Unfortunately, In my opinion knowing the language is a must. You cant really get anywhere without it as communication is so important in any relationship. There are practical ways to get a jump start on learning it quickly but it takes daily dedication of at least an hour. YES, EVERY DAY! I know several people now who have followed this advice and succeeded. get both Pimsleur AND Rosetta Stone Russian. Why? because they offer different advantages. Pimsleur teaches you oral fairly well although the pronunciation is kinda off on some words and it doesnt teach slang,lol Rosetta Stone allows you to learn words and their pronunciation quickly as well as teaching you association visually and by seeing the words repeatedly. Spend 30 minutes a day on both. You can do Pimsleur virtually anywhere, especially in your car but you must use computer for Rosetta Stone. IF you set your mind to it EVERY DAY you will be amazed that in 90 days you can at least hold your own and the learn from being around native speakers. Many Russian speakers you are friends with will correct you and teach you the rest as you go. Immersion alone is not often successful unless you're a kid,lol. Finally, Family ties are most often very tight spanning 3 or more generations of near daily communication/interaction or commonly living together. Its usually important to be liked by the family and you must get along with the kids, if she has them. Most looking for a new mate dont have an active father in the kid's life. Hope that helps. I still maintain that its still best to be able to spend 2-3 weeks at a time several times a year if you cant do longer stretches. I opened a lot of letters, and wrote a few,,, most only lasted 2 to 3 letters. They were obvious scammers,,, falling in love with me on the intro letter,,,, or wanting to visit me by the 2nd or 3rd!! I had longer correspondence with a few of them,,, do you want to see their pictures?? Go to any scammer list watch website,,, you can find them there! In fact,,, I might have some of their phone numbers still listed in my yahoo voice. Dollars wasted on women from Russian Euro,,, other than membership,,,,, ZERO!!! Aussie,,, you and her talk everyday and you had a good time together,,, that great!!! But it is not proof! About 2 months ago,,, I mentioned two people on the forum, that I gave the best chances of being scammed! One was you and the other was Apal!! I am 50% in just 2 months???!!! How did I know??? Your attitudes!! Over confidence and ego is exactly what they want in a pigeon!!! You might have found a good girl,,, and then,, you may not have! Don’t let your need to prove me wrong ruin your life!!! Take off your blinders!!!! I DO NOT take delight in someone else’s misfortunes,,, I wish Apal well!! It is always best to have a positive attitude when starting any new venture! But I can’t stay positive about something that has a 99% failure rate!! Firstly what the losers on this site called a red flag to me was normal positives signs of a sincere lady... She did not want to give me her address so that I can send her gifts... until after we met... Old timers and scammed people have somehow created this perception that unless the girl gives you her physical address she must be fake... But if you think about it, in your own country if you met a lady on line would she really just give you her address if she had not met you yet...? To me not a red flag ... to others here (mostly because of their old "Scammed" thinking) it was a red flag... The other "red flag" was that we got naked a little too early on in our relationship for a about a week... Again the old timers here called my girl a whore and someone that was simply trying to seduce me so she can scam me... BUT again they have no idea who I am what I look like or who she is and what she looks like... THEY DON'T GET what it is like to actually be desirable to a lady because of the way you look and how you are... Mostly because they are all old and ugly... so they don;t understand the excitement and desire that existed between us... And they were not there when we met... and how hot she was and how sexual she is... and how amazingly happy she makes me in the bedroom... TOTAL compatibility... I will tell you all one thing... What they say about how passionate and sexual these ladies are... ALL TRUE...(In my experience) So again what was considered a red flag but the two or three losers on here to me was evidence of her desire for me... Another one was that she didn't want to organise and book to go anywhere until AFTER we met... Again to me proof that she was not after holidays and my money but much more interested in me first and then IF we still like each other after we meet THEN we could go on holidays together... And we are... in 2.5 weeks... :):):) Lessons to be learned here... EVERYBODY is an individual... EVERYBODY is different... You cannot say that because one woman gives you her address and another doesn't that one is a scamer and the other isn't... sexting or stripping for you on webcam doesn't make a lady a whore... BUT then again if you looked like the loosers on here then the only woman that would actually take her clothes off for them are whores...!!!! So from their perspective I suppose they are right... LOL.. On "the" Ukraine... yes.. I was totally aware of this and it was a slip up from my part... Apologies to Ukrainians everywhere... On RussianCupid and luck... I am a man that believes I make my own luck... My criteria was simple.. If I was going to live my dream of finding and marrying my perfect Ukrainian girl then I (<-- Capital I ) and NOBODY else was going to find her... Think about it... IF you allow an intermediate (agencies/translators) to control your destiny AND you pay for introductions to girls AND pay per letter AND pay for translations then you are much MUCH more likely to be "professionally" scammed... The whole "agency" process is designed for scamming... If you cannot see that then you really are blinded by the beautiful photos and have no brains... Now of course as I have said before repeatedly... Russian Cupid and Fiance and other free for all sites are THE MOST open to scammers... And I got hundreds of them.. Letters and beautiful photos sent to me on a daily basis.. But for anybody with half a brain it is really not that hard to tell the difference.. First thing I would do when I saw or was contacted by a girl that met ALL my criteria was reverse image Google her pictures... more often that not if it was a fake photo it would come up on that search... If I did not find her picture anywhere else then I insisted that all initial correspondence is done on Russian Cupid or Skype... The moment that my email was requested that was an immediate HUGE red flag... Scammers want to move you off the site as quickly possible because they know that their profile will not be there for too long... AND they need to email you more photos of "themselves" to keep you hooked. Skype/webcam/mobile number was the only proof I wanted... A scammer will never want to use Skype or webcam and they will not give you their mobile number... Now a couple of things that now I know 100%... EVERY woman in the Ukraine has a mobile... If they tell you they don't then they are lying... EVERY woman in Ukraine has a camera... If they tell you they don't they are lying... So to differentiate between a scammer and a genuine lady became a simple process of elimination lasting no more than 3-5 minutes of interaction... IT was a fun time... it became a game... and I got good at it... So when MY girl came along... she passed the test straight away when SHE insisted that we go to Skype so she could see ME... and then gave me her mobile so I could sms her straight away.... The rest is history... Winning her child was simple... Ask about him, be genuinely interested in getting to know him and buy him a couple of cool toys... Giving him an old iPhone of mine (in mint condition) didn't hurt either ... But I am a dad of a 15 year old... so it was not exactly something that was hard for me... Winning over her mother was also important... My girl lives with her mother and her son... She loved me because I am nice guy... now she just sits next to my girl when we are on skype webcam to say hello to me the total bemusement of my girl who thinks her mother likes me more than her.. Very funny actually... So I want to make it clear... If the child or the mother does not like you then that particular relationship is much more likely to fail... do not waste one more minute in that situation... In other countries (for example, France, Germany, Russia or Spain) people seem to understand that our name for their country is a strange foreign pronunciation -- or in the case of Germany, a different word altogether -- and don't seem to feel the need to "correct" how foreigners call their countries. I think the way THEY say it is ooh-krah-EEN-yah -- at least, that is how Russian speakers call it. Something like half of the conversation in Ukraine is in Russia, but the patriots get very emotional about Ukrainian language! I'm well aware of Ukrainian patriotism, and have never quite managed to take it seriously when it comes to the level of what things are called. The patriots certainly object to "the Ukraine," and also to the Russian language tradition of using the pronoun for "on" to mean being in the country of Ukraine. Ironically, the name Ukraine is essentially Russian for "at the border" or "on the frontier" -- so it's awfully generic whether or not a foreigner uses the definite article. Though some Ukrainians say that the historical meaning of "kraina" is homeland (not border), I strongly suspect that this "historical meaning" was invented to match the desired meaning of their country's name, rather than the other way round. It it this kind of sentimental nonsense that discredits the whole terminology battle in my eyes. I also find it humorous that they lecture us on the use of "the," whose part of speech (article) is absolutely missing from their language. We both agree that it does not matter where we live, money does not mean a thing, and we both think so much alike, there is absolute trust between us.
