"...I need to know more about you before I spend my time getting to know you..." (He doesn't have time for me. Besides, I've answered his questions so he can get to know me; yet he doesn't answer mine.) "It is normal to be careful with privacy, correct?" (Then why is he on a dating-site? It's normal to ask personal questions here.) "You want children soon. I am not sure if I want them, and if I do, it will not be for 4-5 years." (He's not serious. He's on FIANCE.com, but should be on Mamba.ru.) "So, why are you writing to me?" (He's friendly!) "...what is your job?" (I've already answered this.) "I will visit many cities in Ukraine." (He's a sex-tourist, or shopping for women; trying to visit as many as possible, and therefore has little interest in me. Dismiss!) She certainly thinks you're inattentive, and judging by your lack of response to members who have offered advice here, perhaps she has a point? Looking at her messages (and I am presuming you have not edited them), I don't care for her overuse of the endearment 'honey' - it smells of agency-speak to me, in which case you would be completely wasting your time anyway, as no woman from any agency will ever lead to anything positive whatsoever. You describe her as a 'hot 29-y-o Ukrainian. I'll guess she is from Nikolaev. Did she contact you first? Were you successful at finding her on Vkontakte (VK)? Google the IP address to find out where the origin of the email. Ukraine seems to be a mixture of local and national telecoms, and so you may be unable to find her exact location. Hopefully, you will be able to discount Nigeria :). It's likely enough that she is crazy, or a scammer, or both... ...but from what I have seen about your correspondent, it seems possible that she is a sincere woman who is very suspicious toward Western men. I have met a few women who seemed rather traumatized. We very often discuss bad behavior by FSU women. Unfortunately, a lot of the men are also terrible, and probably most of us aren't aware of that side of things. She has some racy photos in her emails. The same story... profile on Russian Cupid for a while (this girl as on there for longer than most - about a week). Asked for my email address in her first message. Writes long letters. Mentioned that she doesn't speak English well and uses a translator (possible translator scam later down the road?). She does, however, answer my questions, take a few days to get back to me and sounds genuine. She did mention her dad was sick for a while but she said that she worked while her mum looked after her dad (possible pity scam for sick relative later?). I checked her IP from the emails and it is from Russia, but it is because she uses Yandex for her email so it all seems fairly normal. I wouldn't mind visiting Lugansk/Donetsk area when I am in Ukraine soon and only have the cost of the meal and possible translator fee to lose if she is a scammer, right? My wife and I have just been down to a Plaza and they had a competition for shop promo etc. The criteria for entry was to be in your underwear. So when the wife tells me this and its on at 3pm, shopping got VERY slow and a couple of Peva was required to slow it down even more. Anyway - it was a barrel of laughs for both of us, but my point is, these "younger" ones have a good time. If you are over 40, forget the 24 year Olds. Look at the 30+ women. There are literally a million of them looking for a man who will be a good husband for her. The format varies depending upon your email provider. I have carried out a quick test using Yahoo Mail ... the 'X-Originating-IP' should be the Yandex mail server, whilst the 'Received: from' should be her IP address. A Lugansk IP address will be in the Full Header information.
