I have sent all sorts of gifts to the FSU and to Uzbekistan and Ukraine and so far only on parcel containing some photos and some cadbury`s cream eggs has gone missing.
Among the others I have sent there have been toys, cosmetics, perfume, small cuddly creatures of all shapes and sizes and many many thing which one would consider good stealable stuff, but it has All arrived within about 2 weeks and each pacel has never been tampered with.
Im not in any way worried about using the post there as so far it has given me no real stress at all.
Of course others may have had bad experiences, but to date mine have been almost perfect.
I wish the parcels I send out from owrk arrived as undamaged and as reliably as the ones I send to teh FSU !! Many dont arrive in one piece, or have been opened, or bits are missing and some dont ever arrive at all, and they are mostly sent around the UK !!!
Apparently I'm still missing it. I believe that the phrase "She was an American." is perfectly proper. He can be an American. She can be an American. "American", as used here, is a noun, and nonsexual.
And I also have to agree with Tim regarding the parcel. With the exception of the tarrif problem encountered by my aquaintance - I am not aware of any problem with the packages being sent by the US Postal Service.
The package I sent recently via US Postal Global Priority was slightly over 10 pounds and the price to send was slightly over $50. FedEx charges three times that amount.
When the package arrives in Kishinev my lady is telephoned to report to the TNT-Moldova office (again, it is a private carrier contracted with by th US Postal Service. There, the package is opened in front of her, as opposed to at the border. If there is a tarrif to pay for goods in excess of $200 it would be assessed at that time. Of course, there is some subjectivity allowed in the estimation at his point. But so far, regardless of what I actually paid for the items in question, nothing has been deemed as being worth more than $200.
And to Jeff M - I HAVE met these girls. I spent better than a week with them in Ukraine last year. So I know that they are not virtual.
We can consider whether or not we ever truly know someone. And that I don't know (after all they are women). But we HAVE met. And they are from "Moldova".
<So I know that they are not virtual. >
One could ask: "But are they virtuous?"
And being a gentlemen (okay guys stop laughing) I'd have to answer that my lips are sealed.
(However, their's weren't).
Hey guys
Anyone of you ever had any experience with Lithuanian women? My gal is so up and up...She has a degree in bus admin plus law. Has her own place. really pretty and smart. Do any of the cultural rules that russian ladies have apply here? (ask three times, that sh*t) sorry stuff hheehe
I am definetely (nice spelling) going to visit her asap. Soon to be cutting all of those other lovelies off here soon, too. A one woman man, I shall be yet...
Hey Jet, since you have visited your ladies in Moldova, did you not click with them? How come you havent jumped in with one yet?
I am mostly curious because this trip to see my baby in Lithuania will be my first (and hopefully my last)
Jeff M. The first Russian woman I dated was Lithuanian. She answered my Yahoo Personals ad to my surprise and she was in the US on a Tourist Visa. She was the most incredible woman I had ever known at the time. But it ended for reasons I never fully understood.
I had a chance to date her again three years later - but she had changed. Instead of my old fashioned values girl - she was a New Age, Reiki and yoga practicing, antitoxican, macrobiological, feminist.
In answer to your second question - my mind was still pretty much on my Lithuanian when I went to Odessa - even with her changes, we had only recently dated again (after the three years). i was not ready to commit to anyone else when I was in Odessa.
Besides my TWO Moldovans were friends and travel companions. I could not choose one over the other and in fact, am still having that trouble. I hope to sort it out with my upcoming trip.
To be honest - I've always sort of wondered about that.
She really was (is) into Reiki, yoga, antitoxicants, macrobiotics and just about anything New Age that came down the pike.
And she put on a great show in looking for the "right man" - right up until the guy fell for her (as I did twice). Then she ran the other way as quickly as possible.
There were two many things to list here that made me wonder.
Jet:
It sounds to me like she has become Westernised mate !!
Isnt that what our natuve women do ? Look for the man, woo him chase him, then as soon as he falls lose interest !! Maybe we should just keep visiting these ladies in their own country and not bring them here and spoil them !! (by here I mean Uk/USA of course !)
Actually I haven't answered that question before and certainly don't mind answering it now.
I haven't actually sent anything by FedEx yet - just received information on their prices. If I had, however, and was notified of a holdup regarding an unpaid tarrif I would forward the money via credit card as my acquaintance did.
I don't believe that TNT Moldova would have notified me, but would have told the lady directly. In that case I would have forwarded the money needed immediately to the lady via iKobo (which I HAVE talked about in the past). It might have meant a delay in her actually receiving the package (because we don't talk everyday) - but I certainly would have covered it.
Jet: thanks for filling me in. Sucks about your Lith girl. I was pretty set on mine up until a few days ago. I talked to her on the phone and I dont know, it just has changed. So I have been spreading the net a little further the past few days. have got good response, but I am a little confused about my Lith girl.
Anyone: Does anyone else use Anastasia web page? Damn those babes are really nice looking and I have had good response rate, but it costs 8 bucks a pop to read or write a letter. Any thoughts here? On fiance.com, I have vip membership so it only costs so much per month and write like a madman!!
The bad news about them has filtered to me too guys, I haven't heard even one good comment about this site in the past 2.5 years !!
$8 a letter makes it a lucrative possible scam if they just have 5 girls in an office answering mails all day for "ladies" who are "phantoms" then its possible that someone is making a very nice sum of money every day without ever having a real girl on the books !!!
I know Olga said "its too much work to do this" but at $8 a letter for an English writing typist who is paid $200 a month, it doesn't take many mails a day to cover her cost and be in profit if you are the boss now does it ? !!
And its $8 each way too !! So if the writer at the other end takes one hour to read and reply to your letter (she wont bother translating it if she reads English, so you could be paying her $8 to, literally, read your letter !! and face it guys $8 an hour is a fairly reasonable rate of pay for reading a letter in the USA, never mind in the FSU !!!) thats an hourly rate of $16 including her reply (Still up with me on the math Del' ;o)) You knows I love ya baby :o)) ) 10 hour day $160 a day income for a salary of $10 per day !!!
And as the women there can be described as "Damn those babes are really nice looking" then I doubt they are running short of letters from men to answer and earn $16 a pop for doing it !!!
Call me a cynical git if you want, but I see a picture forming here !!
