When I was last in Ukraine, I bought a Life SIM card because it was massively cheaper than using my UK provider. The sales girl in Kiev said I would need to top-up my account at least once a year or I would lose my phone number. I tried to refill my account on Life's website just so that I would keep my phone number, but couldn't because the site would not accept payments from non-Ukrainian credit cards. Looking at their site now, it seems foreign payments are being accepted. I will go to Ukraine sometime this year. Life worked fine in Kiev and Odessa, do you think it would work in Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov, and what is the name of your plan? We were merely discussing what agencies charge. Kiev Connections charges $500 for a block of 5 meetings. Marriage by Natali charges $150 per meeting. Oh yea that's probably because I got "scammed" and let the agency get my apartment at half the cost of a decent hotel. Pay money for introductions? Why would any one do that when right here you can get the girls number and arrange your own meetings? So you need a "social director" or "matchmaker" to act as an intermediary. To do it solo and totally on your own requires prior familiarity of the location and people which most do not have. You can say that meeting total strangers without assistance is quite risky. You can also say that completely relying on a third party is also risky. You can get criticized for being too cautious and too reckless. So they may represent a more genuine image of the type of people in a city. I have been to a few foreign cities and having been there before does make it easier to get your bearings straight without having to rely on someone else.
