When Danny first arrived on this forum he claimed that he was retired living permanently in Nab. Chelny in Russia and living off some three businesses, a boat business, a fish and chip shop, and something else, probably cabinet making, that his accountant ran these for him whilst Danny was permanently living the life in Russia, that he was so rich he never needed to work again. Then cracks began to appear in his story, nasfan6 engaged him in email exchanges and his IP addresses were tracking to Australia and Asia, various posts he made on this forum, when he claimed to be in Russia, tracked to South Australia, when he should have been mid ocean whilst sailing his boat from Dubai to Australia he would still be posting on this forum, you'd think that someone who claimed to be in Dubai so often would at least know how to spell it, etc. etc. etc. But when we nailed him down it transpired that he is no more than a carpenter leading a pretty normal life in Murray Bridge, South Australia, hell we even sent the police around his place a couple of times. Danny was a big boaster trying to make out that he was so superior to the rest of us minions, he wanted to be forum top dog, and now we have history, kind of, repeating itself, this time in TomZ. We've seen it all before Tom, we've been there, done that and we've all got the tee shirts whilst you're little more than the new kid on the block. In my case, I wouldn't had careless about Ukraine if it wasn't be my job taking me there and while there I had an experience that changed my life in a positive way, regardless of the disappointments encountered. On that note, flipping real estate, find the wife of your dreams on a foreign country or simply getting in shape is not for everyone. Nevertheless, we had heard or known someone who has successfully accomplished any of them. So is possible, but for the rest of us, it is going time and serious efforts. Hopefully it won't burn a hole in your wallet. Folks, it has been said many moons ago. Learn/ get familiar with Russian language ( if heading to any FSU countries) the alphabet, common useful phrases. But if you really want to make her panties wet, learn her local language. Get familiar with the cuisine/ tradition/ history / cultural awareness is key to good politics. Like any traveler be inform, be alert, be yourself, and be confident...they know when you think with your small head. If you have a question, search or post the question but is your decision on whether to use it or trash it. P.S the douchebag has a big ego and nothing better to do than to spread lies. I used to go to a chat room site where I came across people from every continent except for Antarctica. Of course since it was an English based chat site, all of the people had to understand English. I came across a local TV report about women who got caught in a scam. This is what was noted on the report. More than one third of all couples now meet online, many of them on dating websites. The red flags of a romance scam? * The person is a soldier or American businessman traveling outside the US. * There's always a reason they can't meet in person. * They will profess their love for you very quickly, almost too quickly. * Before you meet, there is always a snag, and they always end up needing money. Bottom line: don't fall in love with someone you've never met, so you don't waste your money. Of course even if you do meet, that also does not mean it is 100% kosher. Usually soldier or business traveller works. But any request for money is a red flag. I've never sent money. Oh yeah once when I was naïve in the beginning I sent $60 to a girl in the Russian far east for her birthday. She ended up calling me cheap. There are people who steal the military profile information and pretend to be military personnel stationed overseas. They become "cozy" with the single lady and eventually leads to a request for monetary help. The most common excuse is that they need the money to help pay the cost of their travel leave. They endear themselves to the lady and try to use the image of a sacrificing warrior to goad them on. This image is of a "man's man" who can be a "perfect mate" for the lady. Again, this is a situation of being too trustful and "starved for affection". This is just a platform for which to carry out the scam.
